Please don't be that excited for TWAU S2

FOUR YEARS MAN. FOUR FUCKING YEARS. I'LL BE AS EXCITED AS I WANT.

nah but for real, i'm super excited and i'm really happy, but closer to release i'll temper my expectations. i always do really. it's why i wasn't disappointed by civil war or outlast 2 and just had "meh" opinions on them. i'm excited obviously but not to a point where i won't accept the possiblity of the thing being fundamentally flawed.

edit: little tip, while i don't agree with the people calling you a baby or an idiot for criticizing a new frontier, this:

After the shitness, the fucking disaster, The Walking Dead A New Frontier, should we really give Telltale a chance? It had a lot of fucking potential, we have been waiting for 2 YEARS for Telltale to prove themselves but they did nothing but rush their most beloved franchise of all time with that garbage game.

is not good criticism. try and phrase your distaste for the series a little better without resorting to petty insults.

  • Do us all a favor and just stay in the walking dead forums where you can continue to act like a toddler.

said the person acting like a toddler because they can't handle criticism of things they love

We get it, you didn't like ANF. Do us all a favor and just stay in the walking dead forums where you can continue to act like a toddler.

  • Just cause Aron is bad at expressing his points doesn't mean you need to nark on the entire board. Not my favorite place of course, but there are folks on there with some valid reasonable critiques and improvements they'd like to see.

  • Yup, I'm aware. I also listed above what I didn't really like about ANF. ANF definetely has its problems and it is clearly inferior to the first and second season, but that doesn't make it a bad or not enjoyable game, at least in my opinion.

I, for one, I liked it. As I said, I hate the fact that they thre Clem there just for the sake of having her, and also Jane/Kenny's situation. This should have been a spin-off, not the third season. Clem should have not been in the story, and obv. Jane/Kenny/Aj as well. And, again, as I said, I also prefer the old TWD S1's gameplay (character control) & episodes durations (obv.), but I don't dislike the Quick-Time Events either. But other than that I really liked ANF's story and characters. Also Javi's relationship with his brother was quite touching to me because reasons. ANF isn't as great as the other TWD games (Michonne not included), but far away from "garbage game" or "not a video game" (from that dude's words we understand that Visual Novels aren't games either).

Sorry saying everything I have already said, again, but I wanted to show you that my thoughts aren't probably different from the majority of the playerbase, but I still enjoyed the experience, and that I am aware that the game had its issues.

Also there's so many things I'd like to say to the OP, but I just won't. No reason to do it anymore.

But there's a difference between giving feedback of what do you think that should be changed to a game, and dumping other people into hating

    CAN YOU STOP ALREADY? PLEASE?

You are already starting to be disrespectful and uneducated. If the dude said he liked s2 more than s1, have the education, and respect his opinion. And all other's opinions!

I know this is internet and I'm just feeding a troll, but still you really are irritating me!!

In all honesty, I agree with a lot of people in this thread. I don't see the point in telling people to limit their excitement, since it really isn't affecting you. You do have the choice on which thread you go into and the best part about these forums is that the threads in them are categorized by game.

However, I do understand that what could be interpreted as over hype to be seen and then the dismay when it doesn't turn out the way people expect it to, but that's really not everybody on these forums and it's not anybody else's place to complain about other people because of it.

Lastly, I do think people can handle doing what @ClemyClooAndBabyboo said and waiting until closer to release to limit their expectations.

  • You'll love Telltale no matter what.

BTW, that's not an insult. ;)

Didn't care for the source material for both Thrones, Batman, and especially Minecraft, but I ended up digging all three games very much so.

  • Kinda hypocritical coming from you. The guy who got banned for acting like a toddler, and still continues to do so.

I don't really care about Telltale's TWD anymore, its become a bloated and shallow shell of its former self. It's just a tired and lazy soap opera nowadays.

TWAU S2 sounds kind of exciting but again, do they actually have a concrete idea of what the story is? Lord knows, I don't want another "incoherent hodge podge of making shit up as it continues" like ANF and TWD S2. I also hope they aren't just doing this JUST BECAUSE there was demand for it.

  • Season 2 of the walking dead was amazing. Sure, not as good as season 1 but sequels tend to be better and if twau season 2 is as good as the second season of TWD, I'll be pleased. I'm not going to say anything about anf since sometimes I forget that the game even exists, to the people that enjoyed it: I'm happy for you, I really am. I wish I could love the game too, the garcias were great characters and this would've been a pretty cool spin off game but when telltale announced season 3 of the walking dead this was not what I expected... at all.

Please don't be that excited for TWAU S2 and TWD S4

Can I be excited for batman? :D

  • Actually I got banned by my own request, and I wasn't acting like a toddler, I was calling you out for insulting people just because you don't agree with them, which is objectively what you were doing.

Kinda hypocritical coming from you. The guy who got banned for acting like a toddler, and still continues to do so.

  • Honestly, despite all my problems with it, I agree with you on enjoying S2 more than S1.

To me, S2 of TWD was even greater than S1 and I can actually see Wolf 2 living up to the hype.

  • Why does it matter?

  • Well we know for a fact that Season 4 is focusing solely on Clementine and isn't trying the "new player" perspective that they tried to incorporate into ANF. So it has that going for it so far.

  • I would be beyond excited about this news right now. Until I noticed final season.

I'm seriously hoping "s4" is the hype they claimed "s3" was. WIth the way ANF flew by I can't possibly see them doing Clementines wrap up justice in such short of time....

Yeah, you just proved that you're being brainwashed by Telltale's bullshit. You're the one who is criticizing my criticism on a franchise I love.

I used to be one of Telltale's biggest fans and you weren't even there.

You're starting to talk nonsense AronDracula does that alot.

Do you really think I should give Telltale a chance after rushing the Season 3 of The Walking Dead? I gave them chances, I've been defending them for years but when I played ANF, I felt ripped off and betrayed.

The Walking Dead A New Frontier isn't just the worst Telltale game ever but also one of the worst video games I've ever played IN MY LIFE!!!

respect his opinion. And all other's opinions!

I'm respecting EVERYONE's opinions, damn you!!! I never said everyone shouldn't be excited for Telltale's new games. I said they shouldn't be THAT excited. If they liked ANF, that's NONE OF MY FUCKING BUSINESS!!! You're the one who is being disrespectful to me who wants Telltale to get their shit together.

If you guys didn't know, this thread is not about hating on Telltale and their new games. It's about trusting Telltale after the disappointment of A New Frontier. If you liked A New Frontier and are excited for The Final Season and The Wolf Among Us Season 2, I'll respect your opinions as much as you respect mine. I didn't make this thread to criticize anyone's opinions, I made this to see if you can still trust Telltale after The Walking Dead A New Frontier. Because of your responses, you're making me regret making this thread. We are here to COMMUNICATE, not fight. This is what this site is made for.

    Thank you for attention.

  • Considering how Wolf ended in 2013/2014(?) and it's been at least 3 years of asking both from people here and other randos online (seriously just look at anything telltale has posted on YouTube or social media and I guarantee you will find someone asking about Wolf 2)... Plus Job telling us a few days ago that Wolf 2 won't come anytime soon, you've really got to expect this level of hype. No one thought they'd listen, given that only two series have had sequels so far [Walking Dead + Minecraft] and the rest were other debuts.
This was completely unprecedented. Everyone was expecting Thrones, but there was no mention of that at all.
Sure, ANF was bad, but Guardians has been really good so far in terms of choices and scene variations, character development (seriously, they established a character in the span of a 10min flashback, and had me on the verge of tears by the end), large hubs with lots of optional dialogue and good length episodes.

I've also heard Minecraft S2 is better, but I've yet to play it for myself.

Edit those statements out (specifically the header) and add some professional criticism and maybe people would take you seriously.

Try not to tell people what to do, you say not to get THAT excited, but that's still telling them what to do either way. It would've been better to phrase it as to why YOU think TWAU may not live up to expectations.

I agree with you though 100%

  • Oh and you'd have me believe hate turns it to gold? Hype makes the experience all the better and waiting a lot more fun. Yeah you might get let down but that's literally the worst that could happen from being excited. That or you turn bitter and rant at the developers non-stop.

  • TWD2 was not a total disappointment, but I never became that interested in TWD3 due to the quality gap between the first and second season. However, since then I have massively enjoyed TFTB and Batman. GoT was fun as well. Couldn't care less about Minecraft.
But anyway, I can't wait for TWAU2. Just because of the setting and characters it's harder for me to imagine it will suck than TWD4

  • actually i think season 4 of TWD has the most potential cause it can do anything with its writing without having to worry about another season s setup for those characters telltale can even just go ahead and make the entire cast of season 4 into determinant characters and since there wouldnt be another season they would be able to get away with it.
thought what im expecting the most is to see atleast one of the missing characters return ((Lily , Molly and Christa.))
