While I can't say I was a huge fan of Linkin Park's newest material, their first 3 albums were all fantastic. This news is shocking, for lack of a better term. My thoughts and prayers go to his family, friends, and bandmates.

I grew up with LP... So sad...
I can't believe this. Linkin Park was a big part of my childhood. I remember the first time hearing them. It was in 2003 and my dad was bringing me to school. The radio station played their song called, "Somewhere I Belong". Their Meteora album is a great album. RIP to Chester.
I thought that this was a sick joke. And now I'm just crying. Not because I was a huge fan or something.. people just keep killing themselves left and right everywhere I look. Makes you think maybe it's hopeless and that's the only way out. Depression kills. What the fuck
Sad, but angry. He had 6 kids and a wife and now they have to go through this tragedy when he could've gotten help.
Why, tho? I heard he was fighting alcohol/drug addiction, but social media always says stuff like that.

While I've never taken an interest in his music I can appreciate the strong emotions that clearly went into his lyrics. May he rest in peace.

Sickening and way too soon...
I normally do not react to a celebrity's death but this hit me hard. I remember being in high school and constantly listening to the Hybrid Theory album. I recall going to my home after a long day and decompressing to their songs. I still listen to their songs to this day and it breaks my heart knowing people suffer alone. My condolences to his family, friends and countless fans. Rest easy, my good man and thank you for all the years of pure bliss.
I learned about this today at lunch. My friend came up to me and said: "the lead singer of linkin park committed a suicide". I was so shocked I couldn't eat anymore. Never thought he'd possibly do such a thing. The news really caught me off guard.
I've never been a huge fan, just know a few songs, but all of them are amazing. I won't lie if I say that my generation grew on LP works. Their music was always so powerful, lyrics so meaningful.. Chester was indeed a talented man. I listened to his main songs today and almost cried.
The way he died makes it all worse. Suicide is a controversial topic but still a very tragic one. I guess he had some sort of terrible inner pain he couldn't go through. Once again, it proves that money and fame can never define your happiness. I just feel sorry for his friends and family.

Chester was not doing good the last few months, Mike said that he couldn't even finish singing some lines. That was in May.
As far as i know, he was a drug user and had problems with it. He also suffered from depression. Probably the reason he hung himself. I feel really sorry for his family and especially his children.
People die all the time, every day. Celebrity or not.

It was shocking when I learned of it.
If theres one thing we can learn from this incident, it's this. We can't tolerate this anymore. If we see somebody who is hurting and needs help we have GOT to help them. If WE OURSELVES are hurting, we have GOT to reach out to someone.
Suicide is a dangerous thing. Its contagious. If we let it take over our thoughts then it can and WILL kill us. WE CANNOT LET THIS HAPPEN ANYMORE.

Suicide is not the way out. It shouldnt be. It is so selfish because you are leaving everyone that cares about you and you left them in a horrific tradegy due to your lost.

I hadn't heard the new Linkin Park songs but i decided to after i learned about his death, One More Light really hit me after knowing what he was probably going through. RIP Chester, gone too soon.
