Would the world be a better place if...?
So the object this thread is to answer the question with what you think would make the world a better place, and why. The rules are you may add two ideas as to what and why - and like always let's try to be respectful toward each other.
No chemicals in our food.
We all know that the chemicals in our foods are disastrous to her house. Example, things like high fructose corn syrup has been linked to cancer, as has MSG.
If we could get all this garbage out of our foods, imagine how much better we'd be able to function both physically and mentally?
In fact the did a study in a local high school out in the Midwest, where they took the garbage food out of the caferteria, and put nothing but fresh meet and vegetables that had not yet been sprayed or treated with any kind of harsh chemicals.
What they found at the end if three months is that the behavioral problems that were coming from students in other schools were now non-existant. The students all focused a lot better in the classroom, and their behavior in general was much much more manageable, both in and out of the classroom.
2nd: The end of using fossil fuels.
Even if global warming isn't real, it's quite obvious that the fossil fuels we're using are destroying our environment, the ozone layer, the pollutants in the air, the water and alike being proof of that.
So imagine if we were using alternative fuel sources how quickly the environment could heal itself?

We all DESERVE to breathe clean air, eat good nutritious food, and drink clean water. However, we also have to be willing to work hard and co-operate with each other so we can have those things.

Food would become too expensive...our society has moved away from local farms and butcher shops....we could go back..but it would take a lot of planning. Remember that some of those chemicals help keep food fresh. But that is not all bad...because we would eat less meat...it used to be that meat was a treat. We could go back to those days...but you have to wonder if people would be willing to give up just being able to get take out or even if they had time to fix a proper meal.
Fossil Fuels...I would love to see alternate energy gain in acceptance...probably we would have to develop a stop-gap solution...Thorium salt reactors would be a great step...the US has enough Thorium to power itself for nearly a thousand years....in that time...I am sure with enough work...Fusion power will become a usable thing.
So yeah the world would be better for some....but lets remember that some of the chemicals and gmo work is what allowa a few nations like the US Mexico Canada and France...to lead in feeding the world...do we throw it all away?

What if they're a very tiny minority of the population? In which case the very big majority of the planet would still prosper from little to no malevolent motivated behavior.
