After Batman sucess , what about a new Marvel game ?
After the great job TTG did with Batman until now, i would like to see another hero maded by their hands. Since Batman is from DC , would be nice to see a Marvel hero now . I would love to see a Captain America or Iron Man or Thor or Spiderman or etc from their hands.

I am kind of hoping that the GOTG deal was not a one shot from Marvel and the team could do another game, whether it be a second season of GOTG or another project. Given they're now back in the full line of Disney I'm wondering whether an X-Men or Fantastic Four Telltale game could be possible.
yeah x-men would be cool too . i didnt played GOTG but was happy to see marvel on this. hoping for an avenger member game though
Some common ideas that people have thrown around have included Daredevil or Spiderman games, which I think would both be really cool!
Nah, I dont want Telltale to start doing non stop super heroes. It will be boring.
Also I think another Marvel game with Telltale is really low, considering GOTG sold terribly and got pretty meh reviews.
GOTG didn’t sell well because most people didn’t give it a chance and stop complaining about the fact that it ‘wasn’t Borderlands’ or they didn’t like the graphics. It’s definitely one of the better games Telltale has made, especially in terms of characterisations and the team dynamics. And I for one would love to see another Telltale Marvel game.
I wouldnt say people wishing it was Tales from the Borderlands 2 instead of GOTG is why it didnt sell well. Marvel is huge so you would expect it to sell a lot but it didnt. I think its simply because it had no real reason to exist in anyway.
Borderlands was another game many people (not just hard core Telltale fans) were confused about. It seemed like it had 0 purpose. But then the first trailer came out and it looked amazing, and then ep 1 came out and everyone loved it. GOTG on the other hand had that confusion of "why is this even being made" and then its first trailer was really lack luster and episode 1 was nothing special, leading to no one talking about it anywhere.
I'd get so damn excited for Telltale Spiderman.
Considering GOTG might not get a sequel, I'd love a different one. But, maybe not so soon. Let Telltale get their act together and innovate a bit.
I think Guardians failed because it just wasn't super special and came out of nowhere to little fanfare. It was "just another Telltale game" with nothing too special, and seemed to share a lot of stuff with TFTB but didn't deliver on that for those who expected. It was also at the point where ANF disappointed a lot of people, and they were really losing a lot of fans. Also, the first Episode wasn't all that great in people's heads.
The art style wasn't great at all compared to other telltale games chances of another marvel game are slim and honestly I think tell might want to try something else rather than marvel.
I think Marvel starting with Spiderman PS4 want to go for the higher budget and bigger numbers anyway. They know Marvel games up till now have been in the majority terrible and want to change that which is why they made that deal with Square Enix to make Avengers and another unannounced title. They want the games to be as big as the movies.
though i love spiderman we already have a ton of it , and with the new spiderman for ps4 coming this year i expect another character to be played as..
true, marvel games aren't been anything great. i wanted to play some but i cant even pick..
The Walking Dead A New Frontier backlash didn't help Guardians either
I think instead of Guardians of the Galaxy, Telltale should have tried with another Marvel hero. I really get the impression that Telltale went for the “safe” and “popular” heroes who can reach a wider costumers instead of the more unknown but possibly more interesting superheroes. You can really feel that TT played it safe by picking Batman and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Not to say that they weren’t good, but I already know these characters well enough. Personally I wished for a marvel game about the Moon Knight. After hearing what you guys said about this character, he seems really interesting.
Well at the same time Telltale did Batman and GOTG. However the difference between them, and why Batman did better than GOTG, was that everyone was talking about how Telltale's Batman was so unique and a different take on Batman, while GOTG was just... GOTG. GOTG was basically just a knock off of the GOTG movies while Telltale's Batman, although it was just more Batman, was unique with its a new take on Batman which is why it became successful.
I'm sorry but that's just stupid. GOTG being closer to the movies and comics didn't make it bad, and the fact is that it was dealing with a lot of elements people who have seen the movies didn't know about the characters, like the backgrounds of Rocket and Drax and people connected to them. Not to mention having an entirely new device to focus the story on. Player had the choice of how to determine Star Lord's relationships with the Guardians and craft an engaging narrative. Its only apparent flaw was some lack of promotion, and for people to ignore and blame it for things not directly tied to it before the game was even out, likely the same vocal crew who berated and tried to ignore Minecraft Story Mode.
I'm not saying GOTG is overall better than Batman, but it's easily one of the most underated series Telltale has ever done in my opinion, and I would love a sequel series or another Marvel game from Telltale. I wouldn't be against a darker character like Daredevil or Moon Knight.
I dont recall saying GOTG is bad, but feel free to call my points stupid I guess lmao. Even in other threads I havent called it bad, its just "there" and does nothing. Its not unique. Its not good, and its not bad either. Its just there just hanging out.
Again, I didnt say it was bad. The point I was making which you seemed to miss was it was just "the same thing" as you would get if you saw the movie or read the comics. It does nothing different and unique. For the average consumer, why are you going to buy a narrative game about GOTG when the sequel to the movie is releasing around the exact same time, and the game does nothing to distinguish it being different enough to be worth the buy? It doesnt, because like I said, it just exist and is pretty much just the movie, but not as good. The average consumer doesnt care about Rocket and Drax's backstory either. The movies easily let the viewer know that rocket was an experiment and about how Drax's family died because of Thanos. Averge person doesnt care and isnt going to waste money to find out "more about it" especially when the backstory this game gives is just "yeah rocket was an experiment and then he escaped lmao" and Drax's just being 10 minutes with his daughter. Nothing exceptional at all. Its not needed to connect to these characters, people already feel connected to them in their other forms like the movies. Also thats not really true at all. Yeah we play as Star-Lord and interact with the rest of the Guardians but, it is nothing guardians of the galaxy hasnt done before at all. Oh wow! The guardians get upset with each other but in the end they all come together again! In the end everyone's relationship is just the same still, and is the same as it has been in other GOTG stories.
Batman also had pretty bad promotion until episode 5, but it was selling just fine before then. You shouldnt be blaming people for their opinions on games like Minecraft either. People said they didnt want another Minecraft, they made another Minecraft, and then it didnt sell well. Same with GOTG, no one asked for it, it didnt do anything to impress, no one bought it. Its pretty simple.
I have to agree with @Poogers555 ....1 superhero series is enough...I don't count Fables as a superhero story it is more a film noir with fantasy. I would rather they did something new.
I'd love to see "Thanos or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Glove" game.
I respect any reasons people have for not liking GOTG, but I personally find most of them to be pretty petty. I suppose it's a question of taste and admittedly perhaps some fatigue some people might have with what they define as the more 'general' TT games. Just remember every game they produce does have an audience. As for multiple super hero games I don't think there's an issue. GOTG was very different in style and form to Batman, so they can co-exist
Every game ever created has some kind of audience. It's only a success if that audience is big enough though...
I liked Guardians and would welcome a new Marvel game. Not sure who though. I’d be all for giving lesser used characters the spotlight for awhile with a new game.
I would quite like them to make a game with a fan favourite comical character like Ms Marvel or Squirrel Girl.
tbh the best characters for TTG are DC from what i think.. Superman is imho the best character they can bring next.. but for Marvel i see potencial on Spiderman or X-Men, though i prefer something like Captain America or Iron Man or even Hulk. I understand ppl want less know characters but maybe sales would be worst.
I feel like I'm the only one who would love to see a Marvel Telltale Universe very similar to the MCU. Think about it, let's say next, Telltale does a Spiderman game, then Guardians 2, along with Captain America and Iron Man. Then, they make an Avengers Game, where your choices from all of those games come together and you maybe play as the main character of each series for one episode each.
No you're not the only one. I like the idea of shared universes and encounters between characters.
It's very ambitious, and something that Telltale may have trouble pulling off (as they'd have to keep people's attention, support, and funding throughout the first few one-off titles) but if they succeed, it would be a gorgeous sight to see. Suddenly all these characters who you played as and whose stories you experienced come together. It could even be something as simple as a guest appearance from someone else coming into a solo game. If played right, it could be a memorable and surprising moment.
I don't really see the choices coming into effect during the team-ups, as that'd be a really big promise to uphold. Any previous cosmetic changes from each series should be easy to implement though.
Unfortunately I can't see this happening, not for a while at least since their plate is full and a large, interconnected narrative like this would require a lot of planning. But the concept of it sounds glorious (doesn't even have to be Marvel, too. They could do this with an original IP or something!)
I liked GOTG series and wouldn't mind seeing a second season from TTGs but I also think that could make a marvel spidermen, Black Panther video game series or a Antman and Wasp. Out of all of those I would LOVE BLACK PANTHER video game by TTG. I love that film coming out in 2018. Maybe a Doctor Strange would work. you get to play him when he lost his hands then you get you play through him learning the magic/science arts. what do you guys think of the ideas that ive listed
Oh, and (I know I'm rambling but) the concept is so interesting to me that I'd just love a game series that has this mantra to it. Like comics, or like a real, living world of prominent figures having excounters between those who are close is cool. Someone on Reddit said it best:
It's almost an impossible task since the development of games is longer and more complex than that of real-life movies, but it's something I'd love to see.
If Telltale were to get more Marvel, it should be focused on the comics' look and feel rather than the movies. Guardians' movie aesthetic and (not my opinion) dull first Episode made it fly under people's radar. I'd wager that if they produced something more like the tie-in comic, it would have garnered more attention. You've got the introduction of Cosmo the Russian space dog, there's a telepathic fighting ring on Sakaar (which at the time hadn't been explored in the movies), and a Death cult on the homeworld of Thanos -- Titan -- these being featured in the comic arc provides some really good and outlandish concepts that the movies would stray away from.
it's an almost impossible job to do, at least by TTG . Marvel said they are going to do that with the new game line starting with spiderman ps4 coming this year. But doing something like that with TTG is crazy would take very much time and would be very hard if not impossible to do . not every person has the same choices that other and doing games were choices matter in other games would be very complex work.
I think that TellTale should create a DC Gaming Universe for the Batman series because some of the fun that comes in Batman comics is seeing how they interact with Batman. Like seeing him fight other villains like Darkseid in his mechanical suit is pretty fun to see!
