Considering I've yet to see them anywhere else, the chances are low.

The worst mistake the oddworld team ever made was choosing the xbox over the playstation 2. It all went downhill from there. So many oddworld fans of the first games never even had the chance to play the later games.

Yeah, I think it was Microsoft who made them a good exclusivity offer for Munch's, and there was supposed to be a PS2 version of Stranger's (which got cancelled for some reason).

I think if anything, what killed Stranger's was the lack of marketing EA did for it. I really wouldn't mind getting an Xbox and giving them both a proper go though.

They have to be ported to the PC first, only then the games could be distributed over Steam. But it’s more than unlikely that the games will ever be ported. :(

You mean for the Oddyssey/Exoddus games? There's only a level skip, if I remember correctly.

I may be accused of advertising for this (and rightly so, but if I'm happy with a service I want them to succeed), but if you haven't played parts #1 and #2 yet, you can get them from GOG.com without any copy protection. I had barely played them before and bought them on impulse when they were added to the catalog and they're still VERY enjoyable.

Also, you can get Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics way cheaper on GOG than on Steam, and with some bonus extras as well.

Although most of you would be better off buying the game in stores, since they mostly sell it at around $10-$15.

Isn't there an XBox emulator floating around somewhere, or did I just make that up?

Cheaper than usual, actually, they doing a 2 for 1 offer on Interplay's catalogue, including the Fallout and Earthworm Jim games, last time I checked. Although it may be over now...

I was rather irritated that I missed out upon Stranger's Wrath. It looked like a fantastic title and Stranger seemed endearing in his own way.

Ack i missed out on both of these, I was sore about if for ages then forgot about it, and now I was just reminded. Ebay and stealing of my friends 360 are in order

An episodic version of the 2 classic Oddworld games would be cool.

You'd be wasting your time, only munch's odysee is compatible with the 360.

actually, i read on 1up that they'll be releasing the first two games on PSN soon.

but i already have Abe's Oddysee on disk and i bought Abe's Exoddus from GOG, so i guess i won't be buying those. but hopefully, it will introduce the franchise to a new legion of fans.

well, Munch's Oddysee was very successful, but Stanger's Wrath, not so much. it was critically acclamed, of course, no bones about it, just not comercially. i heard on an interview with Lorne Lanning himself that the reason was because it wasn't promoted. too bad. :(

Thats true, I don't remember hearing much of strangers wrath, other than magazine articles here and there, but it's a shame lorne didn't push for more advertising, because it is truly a wonderful game.

Advertising is commonly the publisher’s job and publisher was EA. Normally, they don’t advertise games, that aren’t developed by an EA-internal studio, that much. :/

Well it's ashamed they didn't. because Oddworld went down because of it, and thats why I blame EA for a lot of problems in the world.

I blame EA for lots of things..
Billions of Sims addons for one.
Mostly for buying Bioware. Now we won't have any more (Atari) D&D games *growls in anger*

I'm not familiar with this games, but Steam is having a sale in all the Oddworld games this weekend. Should I get them?

That's just the biggest pile of awesome i've heard in a while!!

That it is indeed! A friend sent the link while I was playing TF2 with the Telltale people. Afterwards I just couldn’t concentrate on the game any more. :D

That... is awesome. I've always wanted to round out my Oddworld collection, but I never owned the original Xbox.

LL: I will say that our game projects are online and social-based. This is our dominant focus in this era, but as I said earlier, we would love to be able to release some info soon, but I’m sounding like a broken record in my own head already. Less words, more results. We’re working on it.

Could this possibly be a Oddworld MMO? If so...I think words will never exrpess my happiness. Oddworld+Interactive Society= Awesomeness!

    **SideNote**
    I'm not a fan of MMO's

Stranger's defies the Xbox's Backward Compatibility for some reason though. Could be an issue.

Stranger's Wrath and Psychonauts are my little brother's favorite games. I always buy him stuff like that and then he complains that none of the other kids at school have heard of any of his favorite games. Recreating my own childhood I guess.
