To give credit where it's due, it was more or less built up throughout the episode that he has little to no conduct skills beyond what Clementine always taught him.
He killed Brody and wanted to do something similar to Clementine? Always aim for the head.
I still don’t hate AJ. What he did was inexcusable; however, just imagine being born into a post-apocolyptic world. Your morals will probabl… morey be less inhumane than those who were forced to learn how to survive after the fall of humanity. AJ’s mindset is focused on survival, so when he sees something as a threat he’s going to instantly react. In certain types of situations he’s not going to have an internal debate if something is right or wrong. Survival comes first.
Okay, may I ask: How exactly was Gabe supposed to "prove" himself in your understanding?
Sure, it's a easy/unpopular thing to challenge, but it's honestly so up in the air and/pr up to the individual that I think it warrants actually looking into in some cases.
Uh?
He's only 6, and was born into a walker infested world. Of course he ain't gonna have any regard for human life, his only priority is… more "Protect Clementine no matter what" since she's literally his mother figure. AJ just needs to be guided in the right direction.
Why the fuck does everyone want to see a literal child die? Jesus christ, give the kid a chance to become better.
Well not constantly making irrational and stupid decisions, and ratting out your uncle when things don’t go your way are certainly a way to start. We could have had scenes of Gabe actually stepping up and taking a leadership role, becoming a stronger survivor, not one who runs away when things get tough or one who makes mistakes under pressure. There was honestly a lot that could have been done in regards to his character, as well as make his relationship with Clem more believable, but they squandered it. A great way they could have capitalized on it, make us play as Clem in the present day. If you’re going to build this relationship between them, give the players some choice in the matter, determine how they want their relationship with him to go, but also use it as an opportunity for Clem to pass on her knowledge. Not only that, but due to Clem’s influence on Gabe, it can serve to distance himself from his father and see that his perception of him, which is largely responsible for his flaws, is not the appropriate way to go about it and that a more practical approach, one that Clem teaches, is much better.
Boom, right there, you kill three birds with one stone. You develop Clem and Gabe’s relationship/romance, you allow Gabe to mature and learn, enabling him to become a better survivor, and you create the discord between him and David more effectively and naturally, rather than having it just pop up randomly in Episode 5, just for it to disappear again in the same episode.

After episode 1 I want to see my little budding sociopath climb atop a mountain of corpses while wearing a T shirt that says "Clementine's Little Angel".

I would like to point out once more that a outright romance behind him and ANF!Clementine was NOT a thing until Telltale decided to listen to the people who wouldn't shut up about it--on Opposite Day.
I might come back later(again)to comment on the other stuff with a cleaner palate.

Telltale only seemed to listen to feedback when it was about stupid shit like that didn't they? Longer episodes, course not, more hubs, what are your crazy? Gabentine, yes ofcourse dear community, whatever you say dear community..
Glad they finally took actual feedback to heart with this final season, it's about fucking time.

There was also ANF!Clementine getting more screentime, Kenny and Jane(but not Edith, oh no) coming back, Gabe "ruining everything, Shooting Conrad mattering, Eleanor being an inside woman, Joan being a "REAL" villain, David fighting Javier over Kate,....

I'm sorry but if you wanted to toss him in a dumpster when he was just a newborn baby then you're a psychopath.
I mean you can dislike him if you want to but not talk like that.
I wanted nothing more than to toss him in a dumpster and leave him when Clem first got saddled with him. Then in season 3 when we thought he… more was dead I actually cheered. Now that he's old enough to be an actual character I don't hate him as much, but I still will let him die before I sacrifice Clem for him and it's not even close. All that said, if TellTale does include a way for him to die, I seriously doubt we'll see anything graphic. He's not gonna get ripped apart on camera. If zombies get him, it's gonna be something where we see Clem's horrified face as she watches it. We'll probably hear the ripping and tearing of flesh but we won't see it. He is still a little kid, after all, and visual violence against kids, even video game kids, is a major taboo in western culture. It's why you can't kill kids in Fallout anymore.
Clem was far too young to be taking care of a newborn by herself. Realistically, he'd have gotten her killed. Babies cry, a lot. They cry when they're cold. They cry when they're hungry. They cry when they're wet, dirty, uncomfortable. They cry when their bellies hurt. They cry when they're lonely. They cry a lot. A newborn baby would be constantly drawing walkers in on Clem. Also, she sure as shit couldn't feed a baby so she'd have to scavenge for formula, which would put her in extra danger because that'd force her to go into more heavily populated areas, where the supermarkets and walmarts are because that'd be the only reliable place to find formula. Then she'd have to have some way to heat the water because formula mixed with cold water makes babies' bellies hurt something fierce and they start scream crying and inconsolable. Realistically, Clem would have gotten killed trying to take care of AJ by herself so young so yes, out of pure survival, I wanted her to be able to toss him in a dumpster or something and leave him.

That ending was stupid, though not quite as stupid as this thread's continued existence.

I just had no real reaction at that point.
Yeah, that was a little on the "cringey"/forced side.
Do you really want the high ground, considering the context?

Oh fuck, we're slightly drifting into the [admittedly complicated] Gabe territories of Audience Surrogacy, huh?
Ah, but didn't you hear? If it isn't super-duper perfect, practically audience-proof, and ego-stroking, it ain't worth it.
It looks like he's halfway doing gang signs.

I'm somewhat reminded of Piggy's death in Lord Of The Flies when I think of AJ offing that guy being children and all...

Oh no, then we'd probably be there for at least an essay worth of mentions.
