'Power of Monkey Island' radio play auditions

album-pmi-thumb.jpg

Hi, everyone.

Nightlight Productions have started auditioning for a new radio play series 'The Power of Monkey Island'.

Yes, it's a fan project, but I've been doing these for a long time... you know it's going to be something good, right?

We've got a good Guybrush (Justin, who played the same role in Beneath Monkey Island) and now we're just looking to expand the cast.

Please go and audition!

**edit: now also auditioning for the part of Murray**

I've updated the audition. If people want to audition for the role of Murray, he's going to appear in a part.

I've gotten some good auditions so far, but it'd be great to hear from the ladies out there - Elaine and the Voodoo Lady aren't going to voice themselves, you know. :)

Auditions are open for one more week only!

Oooh sounds like a fantastic fan project. ALMOST makes me wish I wasn't Scottish...a scottish elaine or voodoo lady would sound extremely silly and accents are not my forte. Good luck to all involved :D Have fun!

Still looking for a Voodoo Lady or an Elaine, for any ladies out there who would like to take part...

Damn. Too bad I'm not a girl. Or have a voice recorder. Or lack experience... Or... No, that's it.

Well, I am a girl but I just had a cold (or swine flu. Or the pox. Whatever it was) so I couldn't guarantee a consistent sound of my voice (it's half an octave lower than usual right now). :D

I bet a guy could pull off voodoo lady

I'd audition (I'm a female), but I suck at accents, and my voice is more suited for a "little kid" role than anyone with dark voices, like the Voodoo Lady. Maybe I'll try out for Elaine though.
Good luck to all who tried out.

Possibly, no idea. I don't know where the people who auditioned came from really, so I'm just going by real names in emails!

So I'll take your word on it! :)

hmm, I would love to try some Murray voices...it have never done voice work before (specially because I can't really stand my own recorded voice) but hey, I could try. it may be fun

Murray's already been cast, sorry. Still looking for an Elaine and a Voodoo Lady, but all the other roles have been cast.

Hehe, out of curiosity, could we hear a Murray sample?

Sure. Go to the Nightlight website, the successful roles are there in the relevant news post (it is still, at the posting of this, on the first page).

A guy named Justin Franklin is playing both Guybrush and Murray. He nailed both parts, it's uncanny.
