torin's passage

edited January 2010 in General Chat
now that adventure games are becoming more popular do you think that this game could get the sequels it needs and deserves? I have always wanted the story to continue becuase of that cliff hanger ending in the first game.

Torin's Passage was a great adventure game. If people are out there that haven't heard of it or played it, it's worth a try.

I've played bits and peaces, and it is an awesome game.

If they do make another game set in Strata, I'd hope the company that does it would contact Al Lowe, the original creator of Torin's Passage. He's probably more (in)famous for the Leisure Suit Larry games, but I thought he did a great job on this game (and those recent LSL games without his input have been horrid).

I remember playing this game many years ago. I remember it was a pretty good with some fairly tough puzzles.

torins passage was both a failure and a success..

I never liked this game very much for some reason.

Been years now, maybe I should replay it.

I actually just went and did a play-through over the last day and a half. It still had it's chuckles and guffaws,
the square root pie gag will stick with me forever
, but it didn't hold up as well as I expected it to, with age.

Incidentally, someone on the Sierra Help forums wrote Al Lowe about his idea for the TP games, and Al wrote back explaining where the story goes after the first game. Worth checking out if you're a fan!

(Incidentally again, if Telltale is looking for an obscure, not-so-marketable, but still entertaining game series to revive, I nominate this one. I'm 99.982% sure if you give Al Lowe a shout, he'd be more than happy to jump on board.)

Ah yes, Torin's Passage. It would have been a good game... if it ended! It seemed to have a "don't be a tuna head" ending. (ask and I will explain) Also, the romantic interest needed a pair of pants! She just looked like she forgot to get dressed that morning.

    I did, because I am. :)

That was interesting, thanks for the link!

    Cash would be nice! :p

Considering the relative height of everyone else on Escarpa, the fact that Leena just has a barely-long-enough top to wear is actually appropriate.

Ok, I'll buy that theory. But why not wear shorts? I mean that's how regular pants would fit her right?

I reccomend it, very nice! I also liked the fact that you can die BUT you can always try again from the last sequence.

I hate dieing in adventure game! That is one of my biggest issues with sierra games!

It was simultaneously hit and miss for me. Some of the layers of the strata I loved, others drove me up the wall. All and all I liked it, but I wasn't to fond of the romantic interest-- wasn't her name Lena or something?

You know... I don't even remember now...

    Oops... Sorry about that Brainiac.

Haha! It's my ADD and yet endearing tendency to skip around as I read and ergo miss a few things here and there. :D

Although apart for the spelling I had it!
