I thought the Morgan/Guybrush interactions were realistically written. The whole reason why she's a ruthless bounty hunter is because she thought she was modeling herself after Guybrush's MO. Finding out your idol is a different person than you thought can be pretty crushing.
Incidentally, that seems to parallel Elizabeth and Capt. Jack Sparrow's discussion in the first movie, when they were left on the deserted island. Liz was quite upset that Jack's legendary exploits were mostly a result of dumb luck. Another MI/POTC similarity for the books!
I think that I may have laughed more at LotL than I have at any previous MI game, which is awesome! ToMI is fast becoming my favorite game in the series (it has super easy puzzles, but there's something about its freshness and how it's impossible to know what's coming next that I just love!
When Murray first popped up, I actually thought that his character was a bit bleh compared to how he was in Curse, but he wound up being funnier than ever! Especially when Guybrush “beheaded” him to intimidate Moose! I missed some of the dialogue because I was laughing so hard!
I never thought I'd actually give a rip about the whole Guybrush/Morgan, LeChuck/Elaine plotline, but this episode has actually made me feel somewhat confused about what I want to happen. I feel like Guybrush/Morgan is being pushed so much that it'd be disappointing if something didn't happen, but there's something about breaking up Guybrush and Elaine that wouldn't be right. And there's alllll the evidence to consider... Good lord, we could have a MI fan civil war brewing!
My only complaint were that it was short, and that we're more than halfway done with the series! I don't know what I'm going to do without a new MI game to look forward to every month...

Chapter 3 seemed a bit shorter to me,may be I've become more experienced and passed this chapter faster then previous two=)
Anyway,I love this game!Thanks God I know English=)
The rest of the puzzles were very clever in my opinion. They felt a lot "smarter" than previous puzzles. I particularly enjoyed the ones involving (spoilers coming, the thread title warns you already so I'm not marking them):
-Getting Morgan to go on a date
-The Locket (*great* puzzle!) and Voodoo Lady stuff
-Sea Manatee language puzzle (I loved all the generic "How do I get to the library?" type phrases )
Morgan's "date" and the manatee thing were just dialouge tree trial-and-error. Not even really puzzles.
I'm quite surprised some of you considered this chapter to be difficult.
I thought the D.U.M.I. guys were pretty fun to interact with, though.
The chapters are getting better by chapter and it's good to see that the story changes much throughout the chapters. You know like it's no more static as in previous MIs you knew who's good and who's bad, but now you really have no clue how things really are until the end.
I must say tho I was glad to see Murray's return, the noice he made when talking was no longer bony clacking like in CMI or EMI but rather...'plastic' flapping...:(
Gotta give the score for the diving music in the finale tho.
I dunno... I actually thought the harder puzzles were a good thing. The only place I actually got stuck was when I didn't realize that the hook could be used with Murray's chest(I remember trying it before, and Guybrush said no. I don't know why that happened), and when I couldn't see De Cava's monocular.
But otherwise, I actually liked the fact that I got stuck. One of the best points of MI2 was that it was the hardest, remember?
I didn't hate Morgan, but I didn't like her either. I thought it'd be interesting considering the last episode, but it wasn't as much as I expected.
But otherwise, I'd say it's the best episode yet.
Agree. The puzzles could've been more puzzly. I'ven't been totally stuck yet, which only indicates that else I'm getting better (hardly) or then the game's getting easier.
The toughest puzzle for me ever was in CMI when you were supposed to cut your way through the jungle with just a pair of scissors...I was stuck there for days;just made no sense

I thought the manatee conversation was a little more logical than Morgan's date. Most of them had answers that made sense - what she said was a pretty good clue what you were supposed to reply with. The only one that was really difficult to put together was the response about the TV.
The date puzzle was more trial'n'error. Especially since I thought first dates usually end with a kiss, if you're lucky. But I didn't think even Guybrush could con Morgan into kissing someone as part of a recon mission.

I think both puzzles were logical, the manatee date required a bit more of thinking about language, the Morgan date simply required you to think about how a usual early date goes, and maybe a few attempts based on your hot-headedness
My feelings about Chapter 3 were a little mixed. First of all, I wouldn't consider any of the chapters to be "better" or "worse" than the others, I'll wait 'til I have played through all 5 chapters and then compare it to the other games maybe. But still, I can say there were many things I loved about this chapter, and some things that annoyed me.
Positive:
+ Interesting new characters with more original looks than in past chapters
+ Better sound quality
+ Great jokes
+ Murray! Best credits ever!
+ Pirate-Face off! It felt like a good alternative to Insult Swordfighting
+ "Possessing" the Voodoo Lady - boy, was that creepy and awesome at the same time! And I'm really fond of her strange tarot cards!
+ Most of the cutscenes really rocked my socks - especially the one where Guybrush finally found the sponge!
+ I'm SO glad Guybrush and Morgan didn't end up together
Negative:
- Some of the puzzles were quite annoying, like talking to the manatee - there way SO many options, it was really hard to find the right one right away
- Only one little cutscene about LeChuck and Elaine - I was glad about it, but I would've expected at least one more near the end of the game
- Morgan's mood swings - I kinda understand why you did it that way, but still, I didn't like these sudden changes between her pouting, admiring and stone-cold head-hunter behavior
- I wasn't into those unnecessary dialog choices between cutscenes - like when the crew found out Guybrush betrayed them, there were 2 dialog options that were totally unnecessary - know what I mean?
But all in all: Well done, Telltale Games! I sure hope chapters 4 and 5 won't disappoint me, either!
In other words: Don't you dare killing off Guybrush or Elaine, or getting Guybrush romantically involved with Morgan or Elaine with LeChuck or else... Pretty please?
Haha, yeah, I didn't realize it was old news on this site. I don't visit every thread in here (not even the "things to do..." thread, since I like finding things out for myself).
After I realized, I was too lazy to remove the post. Not that it was a particularly necessary thing to do.

I agree with everything but this. That's part of the good old original MI humor and spoofing of it's own dialog trees. They're unnecessary, sure, but they're there for the humor aspect. I missed these sort of dialog options in Episodes 1 and 2.

The only Hard thing into Manatee love chat, was "navegating" in the possible answers.
Otherwise, Face fight, and chating the manatee, was kind of insult-swordfigthing... Same style.
The face challenge, only had a few posibilities... Collecting the faces, was just like collecting insults and answers.
The manatee chat, was the same system... Character 1 (manatee) say something, then u have 1 correct answer, if it was right, manatee female move a little out, if it was wrong, manatee female moves inside...
Then:
-1
Tales of MI:
Collecting faces from other "pirates" to fight the swordmaster
Monkey Island:
Collecting insults from other pirates to fight the face master
-2
Tales of MI:
Chating manatee, it say something, u answer with only 1 right answer between 20
Monkey Island:
Figthing Pirates, it say something, u answer with only 1 right answer between 20.
-3
Tales of MI:
If ur answer is right, obejctive gets closer, 4 right, you win.
Monkey Island:
If answer is right 3 times, enemy get defeated, you win. With SM u need 7 right and added dificulty.
So... we Just had Insult Swordfigthing, without knowing it, and obviusly really easy. Everything is easy with TellTales...
In insult swordfighting it was essential to rhyme with the insult. The manatee dating was just connecting themes together. I'm not saying either were easier than the other but there's a hairlike difference so maby they wanted something new.
All I know is that I had a great time playing all 3 episodes and that I almost missed out on them because I didn't care for the new look of Guybrush when I saw the early screenshots. Lucky for me, I decided to take a chance anyway, hoping I would get used to the new Guybrush, and I certainly did. I'm so glad I took the gamble as it certainly has paid off for me. Incidentally, I didn't use a walkthrough, but I did need hints several times.

Only in Curse of Monkey Island do they have to rhyme. In Monkey Island 1 they just have to, you know, be the right comebacks to the insults!
Just finished the game... put it on hold for a while as I want to be in the right mood when playing these.
And all I can say is - excellent job on this episode! It's my favourite so far.
Of course the puzzles are still way too easy, but I still thought some of them were pretty cool. Overall very enjoyable episode, thumbs up.
