Er, I mean. Violence is not the answer! (Es ist nur die Lösung.)
That wouldn't be creepy at all, though!
My prediction for the whole series is that Guybrush's death will be about as effectual as LeChuck's death. He'll end up an undead pirate of some sort, and perhaps even become the Pirate God through the pox.
Guybrush turns out to be a far more dangerous as an evil supernatural pirate than LeChuck ever was, so our favorite pirate antagonist will have to resort to absorbing the pox from Guybrush in something similar to the opening scene, giving us a human Guybrush and a repoxed LeChuck.
If I were them, I'd definitely kill off Guybrush. I'd behead him, on screen, and end the chapter with the camera focused on Guybrush's severed head as a solemn tune plays and the credits roll.
I don't think so. I'd preffer a hanging, since is less bloody and it makes more sence in a pirate game. And in chapter 5 he's a zombie. Actually, the pox has turned everyone but LeChuck and Morgan into zombies! And DeSinge is the Pirate God. And... Ahh, I'm just making that up. I doubt any of it would happen...
Soo... What do I think is most likely to happen? I imagine Guybrush would walk the plank. And the moment he gets in the water, the end credits would roll. But in chapter 5 someone would rescue him (Elaine or LeChuck) and it would turn out he was holding his breath between the chapters.
Well, I don't think the title of episode 4 "The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood" should be taken literally as it is a monkey island game, I think the episode will be a big spin on the title, I mean The trial of Guybrush can very well be some kind of test (remember the 3 trials of Melee Island), and as far as I know "Execute" can be something like a doing a mission or carrying out an order instead of just meaning, killing somebody.
Anyway, The MI games have always been full of surprises Imho, so maybe I'm wrong, but so far I'm having fun with all the MI games, and I like being surprised

We have to take at least the first part literally, we're obviously going to visit the Flotsam courthouse in the next episode. And if we take the first half literally, there's no reason not to do the same with the second half. Whether or not he AVOIDS execution is another matter, but I have absolutely no doubt that an actual execution will be an element of the plot.
apparantly any steam subscribers can find out now...it's listed as released. i seriously doubt it is released but it's under the recent re;leases as 7th october

i know it's today, i went to check what day borderlands was due in AUS, and saw chapter 4 at the top of the recent release list. clicked on it to make sure it wasn't a typo and sure enough it says released 7th october, chapter 4 trial and execution blah blah blah.
i still don't think it's actually released for real and something at valves end has gone very wrong. that's why i came here, to make very sure. too early for everyone else.
although given all our whining on the scheduled releases i wouldn't be surprised if they tried to stealth release something to gauge community response.
The titles have all actually been pretty straightforward with the exception of the first one. Siege of Spinner Cay and Lair of The Leviathan were exactly what the title suggested, so I don't think that Telltale is trying to mislead us with the chapter titles. The only real question is who is the pirate god and I don't think Telltale would make it too obvious, so Guybrush may not be it after all.

Sometimes people like to give their creations pretty blunt titles. The last episode of Birdman, Attourney at Law was called "The Death of Harvey Birdman." lol

Actually the first one was too.. because its the one where he gets his ship named "The Screaming Narwhal" and it was launched from shore for the first time in a long time.

I wanted to launch a screaming one like in the what happens vid
Why not both? Then they can bump into each other and get into an argument and forget all about Guybursh, leading to a sort of "Life of Brian" situation.
i believe marquis will be the pirate god adding to GT`s trouble
The Marquis doesn't seem to have the motivation to become a pirate god (assuming that means "god of the pirates" rather than "a pirate who is also a god"). He isn't power-hungry - all he cares about is his science.

He probably doesn't even really believe in it all either... but then if he does come down with a nasty case of the Pox himself from threepwood's hand, they say absolute power corrupts. (Im pretty sure he's trying to drip SOMETHING strong and "scienzes" from it.)

He's certainly doing something!! I still think he's just interested in science for science's sake (and for others to recognise his brilliance or course).
But power? I just don't see it. He was the original castaway on Flotsam Island, and went to a lot of trouble to make sure others ended up there too. Most villains would have done that so they could rule their own civilisation, but the Marquis just wanted a supply of people of his weirdo experiements!

Yeah, but it was only straightforward after playing the episode. Prior to playing, it was a very confusing title. 2 and 3 on the other hand were very straightforward even before playing them, a siege on a cay, and the lair of a sea monster.
