We are almost guaranteed to go back there was too many things hinted at in the first game that is there not to....... The chest and strange devise in the voodoo shack.... the courthouse that was closed at the time.... the um ..... other stuff.
Ok.
Not that it would really matter but could someone please post a link pointing to the information stating that chapter 4 will all be about Flotsam island? I seem not to find the source for this thread's topic and the ending of chapter three is not guaranteeing anything.
(Apart from that I'm trusting TTG that whatever they've got up their sleeves, fun playing the new episode will be their number one priority and they'll know when location recycling will work and when should best be avoided by now.)
Ok.

It has never been said that it's all about Flotsam, but the consensus is we will be returning, just read the thread for reasons.

Check the post above you. Irishmile has done a very good job of listing the reasons why the community is certain Guybrush will return to Flotsam in the next chapter.
I can imagine that LeChuck and Elaine arrive at the trial and Guybrush is relieved at first because Elaine will vouch for him. But Elaine is revealed to be completely under the pox's control and is there to go against him. While in prison, Guybrush gets a visitor, LeChuck. LeChuck reveals he was behind everything and is actually controlling the pox and has Elaine at his side at last. He nest reveals he used Guybrush to find the sponge for him and arrived to obtain it and then watch Guybrush die with hundreds cheering at his demise, including his wife.
I think that would be the most sadistic, heart wrenching, and horrible way to finally get revenge on Guybrush. Not only will he die, but his last thoughts and images are LeChuck and Elaine together and many more hating him.
Aww, now you've spoiled the rest of the game for me!
I think that the beginning of the episode should have Guybrush waking up tied up inside the ship's quarters with Winslow. Guybrush must try to escape but by the time he successfully frees himself from the ropes and shackles, the ship has already arrived at Flotsam and Morgan and De Singe recapture Guybrush and Winslow. I think that it would just be nice to have another location (the ship's quarters).
At any rate - I thought Floatsam was the best island we have been to so far. They have the Club, the printing press, the courthouse, the glass makers shop, the jungle and most importantly De Singe!
I am not sure why people think episode 2 and 3 were better because I thought 1 was the best and Floatsam was the best setting by a mile.
Does nobody read the threads? Are forums just places to scream your own questions and opinions and then leave?
1. The Courthouse
There is a courthouse on Flotsam Island. For one thing, the next episode includes a Trial of Guybrush Threepwood. Another thing is that there is a notice on the door that says the judge is on leave for three months. Guess how much time is between episode 1 and 4's release? It's Telltale's knowing wink saying that the fourth episode will include said judge. Telltale often makes references to their release schedule like this in their games.
The Device
There's a device with strange buttons that doesn't seem to do anything in the Voodoo lady's shack. Presumably, we'll have to go to that shack to use that device in some useful capacity next episode.
The Chest
There is a chest we couldn't open. Presumably, we'll be able to open it next episode.
Along with those, we can all believe that DeSinge is a major character that is recurring in this season, so we'll have to confront him again. Guybrush's hand, also, is on Flotsam Island. It is at least HEAVILY HINTED that Morgan LeFlay is taking Guybrush to Flotsam Island to collect the bounty from DeSinge.
Im sure there will be some new locations too though. Probably the courthouse interior, (hopefully the bar interior too), as mentioned maybe the hold on the Narwal? ...A jail cell? ....some kind of evil place to end the chapter?
@XuGator: to answer your query regarding why many people on this forum prefer chapters 2&3 over chapter 1...
The supporting cast was blander in character in chapter 1. The character's finished models looked too similar as well.
Guybrush often avoided saying the line you selected in chapter 1.
The use of inventory puzzles and imuse-navigable jungle maze got too much in chapter 1.
The first was rushed and not exactly polished. The subsequent chapters have progressively looked more like finished articles.
It's not just the forum regulars, either. Go look at different website reviews of each chapter and you will see a correlation in chapter number and score.
I'm completely sure that TT will be swapping the jungle maze for building interiors in ch4.
I'm also sure they will use night, move out lesser characters (especially D'Oro) in exchange for new (to this installment) ones wanting to see Guybrush's head on the block, have Guybrush playable before the trial, utilize the unexplained (that have been hinted key) items in the shack, feature cutscenes of Elaine & LeChuck, see the landing of Elaine & LeChuck on Flotsam, have Guybrush escape the hangman's noose due to Morgan and/or LeChuck's intervention and finally see the Voodoo Lady, DeSinge, LeChuck and the monkeys' cards faceup on the table.

Actually, according to metacritic Chapter 2 has had the worst reception by critics thus far. Chapter 1 averaged a score of 79, Chapter 2 averaged 77 and Chapter 3 averaged 82.

While we're not sure, we ARE sure that we'll end up on Flotsam.
And why hate revisiting old places? We did it in EVERY OTHER Monkey Island game! Why are you playing this one if you hated those?!
