Return of the Old Characters?

Who would you like to see returning to the Monkey Island series?
Please post your reason for selection.
If none of these, make a suggestion.

I voted for Herman, because I thought he was awesome in MI1 and 4 and I'd like to see more of him, perhaps a back story from before his Hermit days.

    I had enough with most of the characters from Escape. I loved the game, but the characters reminded me of the people from Seinfeld outside the main cast: extremely overly sensitive people that start hating the main character from the start with little or no reason. Most of the characters did nothing but bash Guybrush even before he did anything to them. The players like Guybrush too much to see him go through that much abuse. Escape just took the whole bash on Guybrush thing way, way too far. One of my main cripes about the game.

    From that list I only want Stan to return. They can't bring back just Carla, Otis or Meathook. It would have to be all three as a group (crew?) or none of them at all.

    Stan could be a judge by now, at "Stan's House of Justice" (self accredited). Fair trials at reasonable prices. (All major bribes accepted.) :)

    Wally should be an option in the poll, having already been in two previous games.

    Stan is a much more important character than all the others in that poll, hence I'm not surprised that he's leading by far.

    Also if Stan is not in this game it will feel like something is missing, as he is one of the only five characters who were in all the games so far (besides Guybrush, Elaine, LeChuck and the Voodoo Lady).

    My 2nd vote (if I had one) would go to Herman Toothrot, if EMI wouldn't have destroyed all his history and made Grandpa Marley out of him for no plausible reason :(
    And that's all. No other characters need to come back, IMO, unless they really contribute to the story and are really required to be there.

    To be honest, Stan was a bit weird in EMI.
    He's much more of a rounded character in SMI.

    I also noticed a severe lack of Monkey Island in this one...
    He only mentioned it the single time in LotL and only when talking about a dance!
    We better end up on Monkey Island, else I'll demand a refund! :p

    Of all the characters listed above, I'd prefer Stan to reappear. My second favorite would probably be Carla. Or the whole crew from the Sea Monkey.

    As for H.T.: For Heaven's sake, please, NO!!! :eek:

    They were a MI constant up until Monkey Island 3, meaning they were a Ron Gilbert's Monkey Island constant, meaning I want to see them again.

    The singing barberer trio from MI3 would be fun to see again..

    Edit: trio, not quartet, ofcourse. Not that I did not know that they were three, it's just that I mixed up the words...

    Up to now, I am incredibly happy that ToMI is not a mere collection of old characters, senselessly thrown together in new environments. If Stan was to be Guybrush's lawyer in the next episode, that would be hilarious. But that's about it. I don't need more characters from the old series, and definitly not a single character from EfMI.

    The next season - there must be one! - might find fitting settings to integrate one or two characters from former games. My favourite candidates for this would be Carla, the Melee Island shopkeeper, and of course: Largo. If all three returned, however, it would feel overdone...

    Which Jojo is Jojo? If he's Escape From Monkey Island Jojo, he'd be Zombie Monkey Jojo if the game is to stay true to that. If it's Monkey Island 2's JoJo, I'd like to see which career he decided to go for... plumber or piano player.

    I'd love to see Stan again, because he's awesome, has a really cool tune, and because I want to see what his jacket looks like in 3D (Yeah, I know he's in Escape, but whenever I play it I get really bored and generally quit very early).

    Also, the Men of Low Moral Fibre and the 3 barber pirates would be fun.

    In Escape, there's a grave that says JoJo... apparently, the creators of EMI mixed up the MI1 monkey that helps you get into the Great Monkey Head grounds, and monkey in MI2, who actually was the one called JoJo. And apparently, the MI1 monkey, whom they thought or mistook for JoJo, is dead in EMI. So if he's to show up in Tales, he'd be an undead monkey.

    (It was one of the many plotholes in EMI - albeit one of the minor ones)

    I'd actually like to see the Men of Low Moral Fiber (Pirates) in Telltale's engine. Seems like one of the three different pirate models would fit well for each of them.

    Shame, I never liked Stan. He's annoying, boring and feels forced on the fans every time. He's allways the same. I hate it. I miss Wally and Carla and Meathook. Heck, I'd take even one shot characters before Stan.

    I like Stan. I want to see how Telltale handles Stan. I feel like he was underused (and underanimated) in EMI, and even in CMI he didn't move around enough (although his introduction in CMI is so beautifully brilliant it makes up for it). Stan should pace around constantly, and disconcertingly pop from one side of the screen to the other... He did it in the original SoMI, and Brutal Legend just showed me that the same effect works wonderfully in 3D, so hopefully Telltale is on the same wavelength as I am, and makes good use of the character. They already did a great job with Murray, so I trust them on this.

    Just Stan because he's a constant. The other characters have no reason to return and nothing to add, so why bother? Unless it's a brief cameo in the Trial...

    Wow, there is a lot of love for Escape in that poll. (The potential choices, not the votes.) Every single character up there was in EfMI. I picked Stan not because I like his character a great deal but becasue I really don't want to see any of those other characters ever again. Not even Guybrush's old crew. Oh, and I never liked Herman. Never!

    I second the Men of Low Moral Fiber (Pirates). I missed them i CMI -- though when I first played it I thought for a second they were the Barbery Coast pirates.

    wow, you're right lol. my #1, which i have no doubt that it will happen, is Stan. #2 is Herman, provided he gets hit on the head or something and loses his memory(and pants) and is stranded on an island.
