I DEMAND Grim Fandango references at the
    land of the dead

    From what I understand,
the Land of the UNdead is supposed to have a heavy voodoo theme
, so I suspect the only sort of Grim Fandango reference we'll see will be along the same lines as the one in SoMI: Special Edition.

Poor old Guybrush. Who knew when LA said they were giving him a new look for the remake it meant beating his face in with a baseball bat, and operating on what's left to create weird waves of hair out of the dead skin?

I think our own Irishmile really nailed it here.

How can that be a Grim Fandango reference, when that dialog was already in the original version of SMI from 1990, and GF is from 1998?

Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition came out this year and in the screenshot they put Manny's face from Grim Fandango as one of the skulls in the column of rock.

It wasn't there in the original 1990 game.

He meant the Manny face they added above the dialogue tree.

Okay, I guess I'll be needing glasses... Sorry, I didn't see what he was hinting at, so just ignore my comment. ;)
