After Chapter 5 the long ride what will you miss the most???

After Chapter 5 the long ride since TTG announced a new saga from our mighty captain Threepwood. I've had good memories from this forum, reading posts, sharing my experiences and nostalgia of playing the old games of The Secret of Monkey Island. I've enjoyed the creativity, the fan arts, the videos of Majus & Silverwolf and peoples jokes and great threads

What will you miss the most after its all over and people stop posting??? I know if it werent from other circumstance i would have been friend of a lot of you guys. Best forum i've ever been part of.

You guys. I'll miss all the fellow fans.

The monthly experience of bringing up Telltale's site and saying to myself, "holy crap, there's a new Monkey Island game out today."

I still haven't quite come to terms with it.

Everything that comes with it. Monkey Island is almost always covered in benefits like its wonderful community.
  • edited December 2009
Yeah, I haven't even been involved with the community until, like, a month ago and I really have to say that you guys have been real great. Doubt this is the last time we'll gather together though.

The I Wonder What Happens videos were my favorite thing. The speculation threads and in-jokes were great, too. I've made a lot of new friends through this game, and I really hope they do a Season 2, not just for the sake of "I want a new game". :p

    miss you!!!

I'll miss the waiting. And the waiting for waiting. And to a lesser degree the actual playing...

Nah actually this is totally boring, I'm going back to bed.

I'll miss nothing. I'm quite likely going to finally get Sam and Max Season Three. While I'm glad to revisit a series that hasn't had a game in so long, and a series that ended on such a bad note, Sam and Max is closer to my heart. Really, if Tales was the last I ever heard from Monkey Island, I'd probably be happy enough.

definitely not Flotsam Island. It ruined Chapters 1 and 4 for me because I really, really disliked the setting, especially the jungle.

I'm really gonna miss talking to people who actually know what I'm talking about! Its been a lovely couple of months. But I know I'm gonna stop coming on these forums about a week or two after the final chapter.

OH GOOD GOD THE FINAL CHAPTER! After waiting 9 years for another game....its almost over! D: This makes me vair vair sad.

I'll miss the sense of anticipation leading up to a release, and (like a few others in this thread) the sense of community. But I'm sure TTG will provide plenty of opportunity to experience both those things again next year.

I definitely won't miss the plethora of ZOMG RELEASE IT ALREADY threads. :)

I'll miss you guys! Everybody! Telltale, fans, every single one of you!

I've made some great friends here, and I mean it! As I'm writing this I actually started to write a list of people, but there are too many of you!! Ha!

It's not everyday that you get to meet the people who made your childhood happy and filled your dreams with hope and ambition, that later on helped you develop into a cool (and a bit crazy) young adult!

Right now, I'm seriously struggling with my new Operating System (Windows 7) to get it to work so that I can finally release the last two tributes for you guys!

If someone would've told me last year that this is how I will be spending my last month of 2009, along with a bunch of cool and great people, making Monkey Island tributes from the bottom of my heart... I would've called that guy insane!

Okay, enough emotional stuff... we'll have plenty of time for that later. Gotta go back to work and fix W7! Argh!

Even though I'm not going anywhere because of Sam&Max, I beleive I've made some great friends, and seen some great things even being included in the IWHIToMI IV and The Game.

It's going to be heartbreaking to see you all go and we had some great times on these forums.

Hopefully we will all be back for a season two.

Arguing with impatient people . . . no, wait this is the thread about what I will miss.

    Nevermind.

I will go back to making remixes of songs no one cares about :) Maybe I'll try and get involved over at OC Remix with some more Monkey Island stuff... Havn't thought about it yet.

I've been doing remixes for a while and I ussually make the remixes for about the 15 or so people that are interested. Lunar, Shenmue, etc... Here, when SilverwolfPet asked for a Largo Theme remix a couple months ago I posted it in the thread we were talking in and didn't think much of it at the time and a week later I saw that I got over 300 downloads and I almost fell out of my chair.

I don't think I'll ever do any music that will get this much interest ever again. Gives me a little bit of purpose for my music career that never was. :o

Actually being happily hyped for something coming out of E3 for the first time in several years.

I'm definitely going to miss Majus' animated series, and lurking the site all day when a new chapter's about to be released. And I'll miss the community, along with hearing people's theories and of course the fanart!

I seem to have quite a talent for randomly becoming inactive in online communities. I really hope I won't do that here. Hopefully some of us will stick around for a long time!

Well, since this could be our last chance to say this for a while:

Holy crap, there's a new Monkey Island game out today!!

Given that i only bought the PC version a week prior to Ch4, i had been avoiding the Forum For extensive periods (between PC release and wiiware release). However, from my limited experiance, i think i'll miss the community that builds up in the official Ch5 thread, including songs, which are suddenly abandoned in a furious rush as everyone realises it's out.

I'm going to miss knowing that there will be another Monkey Island. I mean, we know nothing. They could do another season next year, or it could be another decade... or longer...

MI2:SE is inevetible, given the phenomenal success of SMI:SE. As i haven't played the original (MI2) it's like a new game to me.

Everything. I literally just joined the forums 15 minutes ago, and I can already tell you guys are wonderful people. I'm going to miss the feeling that there's going to be a new episode, Stan's jacket, watching the ending of Chapter 4 over and over with a shocked look on my face, and moonwalking on Club 41's carpet...

    Join date:Mar 2008.

But i know what you mean. Theres just a sense of community here that you can't find anywhere else. A unity of similair minded folk. In fact, i don't recall anyone ever breaking out into an arguement with anyone else.

I...intend to try not to miss too much of anything. I've never been this active on a forum in my life, and I intend to try and stick around. Everyone here has been great. Who's with me?

    Stan's jacket is win. :D

Though I don't think I'll "miss" it as such. Not when I've replayed chapter 4 again and again. Sounds like a plan?

Looking forward to a new chapter of a game every month. I pray the next game won't be Sam and Max, even though I'll probably by it either way. But I just always feel so indifferent to sam and max. I understand the humour, I even enjoy it. But I just don't "feel" the game, quite like Monkey Island or any other LucasArts adventure game. If they were to announce another series, I'd much rather have one of the other LucasArts series or any old licensed series, if they're not going to make something entirely new themselves.

I don't know, I just never feel any motivation to play the Sam and Max games. I also haven't completed the second series yet, only got as far as Moai Better Blues, and got bored.

A plan indeed. I'll practically commit it and Rise of the Pirate God to memory.
