Majus was rambling about Sam's Head on Twitter

edited December 2009 in Sam & Max
I wonder why ;)

With that say it, Has anybody a screen shot or anything of any of the sketchbooks detailing, somehow, how to draw Sam? Or any sketch of Sam with the guides? or anything? (or any tip, or something). You not only will help one person, maybe a whole of artists who wanted to draw him and can´t.

Probably. At least you gonna help me =P

I found one of the animated series version of Sam, if it helps. Not the best, but a couple good refrences there. http://bdtxiii.deviantart.com/art/Sam001-70090481
It's not mine, by the way, so I don't take credit.

Majus, it's a bunch of triangles. His head in a triangle, and his hat is an upside down triangle with a paper plate between them!

Here's a bad drawing to show what I mean!

I really wish that or the other sketchbook would get a rerelease.

I'm not a great artist, but I've tried to draw Sam a couple of times, and i had the most trouble with his mouth.

This is the result. I think drawing Sams head is the most difficult thing on earth!!

The sole reason Steve Purcell designed Sam that way was to show off his ability to draw entire comics with a character whose head looks like that. He is the Chuck Norris of cartooning.

That was awesome, you're a really talented artist.

The cartoon was well realised for the holiday season.

Yeah, I believe those were Steve's Sam and Max model sheets provided to the artists at Nelvana to try and keep the characters on model when storyboarded/animated.
