This thread has elicited some interesting responses; not just in how people deal with depression or sadness, but in how they define it as well. On the whole, it seems we all deal with depression, whether we're just in a blue funk or dealing with a more serious mental issue, by living our lives as normally as possible around it; doing what we normally do while maybe indulging in mental distractions a bit more than usual to help keep our minds off of it.
And ice cream is not as universally popular as Baskin Robbins would lead us to believe. Chocolate is the true king. And starches.

Same here. Chocolate ice cream is okay - but then, I wouldn't eat more than a cone-full.
