Classic cartoons and anime which TTG could bring back as an adventure game

edited February 2010 in General Chat
So I've noticed many fans of different cartoons and anime wish they would return. And Telltale have been known to successfully bring back old game series. Well why not an old cartoon or anime. Telltale could do either 2 episodes or a full season. And they wouldn't need to get in the original voice actors unless they can and if they don't, at least those who can easily sound the same. So suggest down here below what classic cartoons or anime you'd like Telltale to ever make?

    The Flintstones.

    The Jetsons.

I liked Les Mondes Englouttis (Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea).

But I don't think I'd like old series to be redone. I like them the way they are.

EDIT: here, since you put the English opening of Ulysee 31 I'm adding a link to the opening video too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48NaLR8V9fE

Not a cartoon, but Mystery Science Theater 3000.

    Oh, and Rocko's Modern Life.

    Defenders of the Earth
would be great to see Flash Gordon, the Phantom and Mandrake the Magician back together again:

    Here's the intro from it:

also they could just do a Mandrake the Magician series lol

This is an easy question. Ren and Stimpy.

    Danger Mouse
would be hard to get David Jason to voice him but anyone who can imitate his voice. Would be an awsome point and click adventure series. Looks like something Telltale might be interested in.

I just had to ask, how do you see making an adventure game out of MST? I love the series, but how many puzzles can build around a guy and two robots cracking wise at bad movies?

I think Ducktales could work out as a point-and click episodic game, although I do hear rumors Warren Spector is interested in doing this.

    Using the SCUMM engine!

    Use - Joke - With - Actor
Use - Joke - With - Camera Angle
    Use - Joke - With - Music

    It could work!

Technically this isn't a dead series as it still gets a TV movie every year, but I'd love to see a Lupin III episodic game, I think it could translate into an adventure game pretty well.

Yes to DuckTales definitely. Absolutely. Nothing is more perfect. The entire series was a pulp serial for kids. Indiana Jones ripped off it's boulder scene FROM DUCKTALES. Lupin would be great, but I don't know if he would attract a wide enough audience here in America to make it financially.

it worked for wallace and gromit ^^

Good point, but anime has a harder time catching hold in the US than claymation, unfortunately. Yet, who knows. I wonder if the Telltale Team could write an anime video game series, or capture the spirit of it. Who knows. Detective Conan would have a better chance of that because it's a generally straightforward murder mystery. Someday, if Telltale ever wanted to branch out and bring in Japanese customers, a Lupin or Conan game would be the way to go.

    Count Duckula
The spin-off to Danger Mouse. Another show which could work as a point and click:

    Billy and Mandy
    Asterix
    Tintin
Sprint or Viggo (if that's what they're called in English)
    Calvin and Hobbes

I think a lot of stuff from sitcoms could work well for adventure games too, but I'd be most interested in seeing TTG doing their own original thing.

What about a Inspector Gadget point and click game (as long as not based on the disney movies).

^ YES YES! DO IT DO IT!

in other news, I hate things where it automatically uncaps posts consisting only of capital letters. soome things lose their meanings uncapsed.

Well for now, maybe not too many old Disney shows. I mean the rights to any would be too much. Maybe something along like the old Dic and Nelvana cartoons etc.

What about a series of Babar point and click adventures. Now that would be a great idea. The cartoons themselves based on the old 1930s french stories.
Of course aimed somewhat for younger viewers, the series has been criticized for showing examples of political arguments.

Doug was a Nicktoon before it was disney and as far as I know, disney didn't pick it up til after Nickelodeon was like were done. I think disney also did the were done with doug too.

Tenchi Muyo series might be good to do

    I'm gonna say Corto Maltese.
While mainly a comic book some french company made a (in my opinion) excellent cartoon/animation from it. With the adventurous nature of the comics and good dialogue I'd say it could be an excellent adventure game.

Just to say, I'd like something like an old 80s or very early 90s cartoon to return as agame. Just something you grew up with and havn't seen return in a long time would eb just AWSOME so see return and even better if TTG was to create maybe just episode of it :D

    Pinky and the Brain?

    Ooooh, yes.

I'd love to see a proper Animaniacs game for once as well.

I'm also going to give a shoutout to Futurama. Hey, it's a classic to me.

Considering DuckTales has been brought up, I have to say if that ever happened, I would most appreciate Telltale doing a collaboration with Capcom. You can't go wrong with the one company to arguably do licensed games right (not to mention the auditory glory that is The Moon, among others).
