Sam&Max - Revolution Attack

edited March 2010 in General Chat
Well, since the timelimit has run out on the Art-competition, I'll post my last entry here. The idea is to make it an episodic game-story(in true Telltale spirit), and release more episodes IF Sam&Max wins the vote!!.

This is in every way a hobby/crap-entry, but for you who are bored to death, give it a try!
Edit: Fixed minor bugs!

Hahaha, I guess that's the the irony  A game for PC promoting games for Mac. I really wish it could be Mac-compatible.

This is a longshot, but is it a DOS game? I have a DOS emulator in OS X.

    Sadly, it's a Windows program.

And this is gonna sound really lame, but I'm stuck right at the beginning. I can pick up the hand, but after that..?

EDIT: Ah. You need to use something placed above the phone. That was tricky to spot.

Strong bad's lines and actions are very un-SB, it moves very slow in crossover, and there seems to be no way out of the first room even with sams hand
  • edited February 2010
So far, one can get to the third room (room after Sam's hand), and do stuff there. I started working on the game last week, but effective working days boils down to about 2-3 days. And most of that time was used to implement different functions and learning ags. (Even completing Hit the road, which I had not done yet(!).

Remolay; You mean he is slow after hitting the light switch, or in animation movement before?

Very nice to receive feedback, negative or positive. And if anyone have suggestions or ideas to a (longer!) follow-up, please share!

How did you make this game? AGS?
  • edited February 2010
I havent found the light switch, it's slow from the beginning
  • edited February 2010
    natlinxz: That's correct.

Remolay: I've tried to fix the speed of Strong Bad while fixing some other bugs. You can see the switch before everything gets dark ;)

It is possible to port the game to Linux, but sadly DOS and Mac's support is discontinued on ags. There is also some lack of pickup-animations, due to the goal of releasing the game on the Art-contest thread before deadline. This will of course be updated if Sam & Max wins the vote!

If you guys have any good ideas or contributions to the follow-up, do not hesitate to PM me.
Edit: especially for character-lines, I'm not a native english speaker, so any help with good lines is appreciated!

Could you please create the Winsetup file? I need to set the resolution.
  • edited February 2010
The resolutions seems to be locked to 640x400, you really don't need the winsetup to access config, just create a shortcut to the exe, with these parameters in target:

    "C:\Sam&Max-Revolution Attack.exe" --setup

Well, it worked fine for me. And hey, my name's in the credits! :D

It's a pretty good demo game, and there were some laugh out loud moments, especially
"Join me on the Dark Side!" "Well, it's dark everywhere."

Too bad it's just a demo though, cause the writing was pretty sharp.
