I finally finished Ace Attorney Investigation: Miles Edgeworth. Here's My Review:

... It wasn't half bad. I'd definitely recommend it.

What do you guys think?

I love your DP. Simply fantastic.

My thoughts on it so far is that it's pretty meh. I've almost finished the third case, but I'm pretty bored and cbf finishing it.

It's too easy to solve something, but I really hate the evidence presenting. In Phoenix Wright, you could generally produce a number of bits of evidence for each particular objection, as long as they were related. But in Miles, if you want to say that the killers left no finger prints because they were wearing costumes, the stolen costumes don't work, the badger head doesn't work but a pamphlette on badgers will. Most of the plot was really obvious, it was just figuring which exact piece of evidence at which exact point you have to present.

The only bits I liked in Phoenix Wright was the courtroom. The linear progression of go to point a then b then c, not b then a or c (like you can do in monkey island) is freakishly irritating. Miles makes a whole game of the investigations, then gives you a dumbed down courtroom session every 30 seconds.

    I'd give it a 6/10.

I love your Avatar by the way. It's fantastic.

I'm also halfway through the third case. I'm glad that no Phoenix Wright-patented leaps of logic has occured so far. The cases have been extremely straight forward, but the case solving logic has been pretty much straight on from my point of view. I don't feel the game is warranted a spin off, though, since it's mostly been an excuse for returning old characters outside of the courtroom. Speaking of the courtroom, I really miss the Judge and the "rules" the attorney and the prosecutors are bound to. I mean, who checks the legality of the characters arguments when they're arguing outside court?

It's still a good part in the series, but Edgeworth is coming across as even phonier than Phoenix at times which is something I would not have expected.

It was kinda trial-and-error (heh, pun) for me, but that was kind of always how I play Phoenix Wright. Except, of course, you lose your 'health' more often in this game.

I always found the investigation phase to be the worst in the AA series. A game focussing on that aspect earns a wide berth from me!

I'm at the fifth case (finally received my copy from amazon). I was worried but I'm relieved I'm not the only person who never got stuck. I'm really enjoying the game but I always knew what to do and it seemed spelled out. As I felt the same about the last adventure game I played (Tales) I was starting to worry there was something wrong with me and I'd never be stuck again in an adventure game.

But if I'm not the only one, then no worried.

I like the switch to third person a lot. Much more practical than first person. the way you move your character and look at objects and stuff isn't great, I'm not sure what they were going for, but apart from that it's pretty good. I love that they still have breaking down animations, and the 3/4 views are much better than front views for the sprites. And so far the story's pretty interesting, even if they had to confuse it by putting it completely out of order.

And so far, apart from a few minor details, the stories don't depend on everyone involve in a case being stupid, crazy or both. So that's good.

i have enjoyed, but now I must finish crime scene, because well it's hard, and I get frustrated so I'm actually liking this game...a lot.

I just finished case 4, which had a great ending. The game doesn't feel the same without the funny judge, but I otherwise don't mind it being basically everything you do in court but without the court. Also the case-specific characters just aren't as great as the ones in the past games. Badd is the only new character I really like, Kay is alright but I like her better when
    she's a kid
, and Lang is just a big ol' jerk so far. The logic system seems generally pointless also, but I don't mind it.

Anyway, the one thing I don't like about these cases is how obvious the bad guys are to pinpoint at first glance or in the case of case 3 when
    you receive the loan letter.
I was all "hmm, yup, now I know who it is." Maybe I've just become good at recognizing Ace Attorney logic and pinpointing what attributes make for a bad dude in these games, but oh well. Pleeeaaase case 5 don't let me figure it out so fast.

Oh, and another thing about the game; the timeline between cases is a bit confusing at first. Not really a complaint, but kind of a mild awkwardness.

And, yeah, the 3rd Person thing is quite an improvement, making the AA world look more immersive and real.

And Badd is definitely my new favorite character in the AA universe (sorry, Judge).

Oh, and for everyone who hasn't finished case 5; at several points in the case you'd think that you have solved everything, but you haven't. And it's not the first person you suspect. Or the second.

I hope you're right about case 5, because as soon as I got into the crime scene in the beginning I was all
"what is Lang's assistant doing here? ... Heeeeey, hey wait a minute!" and I took a look at Yew's profile picture and compared the two's faces, and was all "oh christ, she's Yew isn't she?"
    >:( I hope there's a bigger factor in all this, because I hate figuring out important things so fast.

No, you just solved the case. She is actually Yew, and also Edgeworth's long lost sister, and she was kidnapped by aliens. Heh.

Seriously, though, it DOES get bigger than that.

Only got it the other day, already on Case 2, felt like I missed out on a few things from the first case cause I solved it too fast, I noticed Winston Payne standing in the hallway during Case 1, can you actually talk to him?

I think you can only look at him, but maybe you can talk to him. The fun thing is that Edgeworth has obviously no idea who that guy is. You can also look everywhere around Edgeworth's office for many fun lines and references, for instance if you look at the Samurai or the flowers.

Do not go with the image you have to talk to him and then take any decision. Its a suggestion and up to you!

Just finished it. It was an alright game, but there's just something about the courtroom action that makes all the other games better. For one thing case 5 was cool and all but it dragged on way too much at the end.

    Also HEH.
