Yeah, the original looks pretty flat in comparison.
  • edited April 2010
Ehh...I don't know. I think the moon is a little too "loud" now. Kinda gives it a spacier feeling, too. Great work, though.
  • edited April 2010
Possibly... I just think the original one is too boring.... I found it boring to look at in the last special edition... and its a shame because the moon should be instant easy eye candy.
  • edited April 2010
I like both moons. I think Irishmile's fits in with the game better than the original does though. I'd actually like to see a moon that isn't circular - one that actually has slight angles, corners and edges. Notice how very few things in the Special Edition has smooth or round edges anyway?

    LOL I am mooning you

Haha, punny. Anyway, yes, that's the sort of moon I'm referring to (the image, not the pun).

I know it's Tiller's, but where is it from?

Edit: Hey, you used that for your moon edit in the picture. So that's how you managed to post th image so fast.

Its actually something I did... I took his art and completed it...
  • edited April 2010
Ah, okay the. Cool! Where can I find the original? Y'know, just for comparison.
  • edited April 2010
That is the one. as you can see I cleaned it up and added to it.

I use it for MI fan art... its actually in that redo of the moon for the SE if you look close.
  • edited April 2010
Jeez, good job! Must've been a long process extracting it, fixing it, changing it, cleaning it, etc.

Yeah, I mentioned that in the edit of post #649, but worded it pretty badly.
  • edited April 2010
It was a while ago... I do not think it took too long though. Usually if I have part of something I can usually figure out how to "fake it" for the rest.

But I do sometimes completely lose track of time when I am doing art in photoshop there have been nights when my wife goes to sleep and I hear her alarm clock go off in the morning and I know I will get a lecture from her she hates it when I do not come to bed.

Wow, you must get yourself into one heck of a zone when Photoshopping. But I'm sure it's pretty easy to do, time seems to go a about twice speed when your on the computer, and if your actually working on a project then it goes by in a flash - it's really annoying actually.
  • edited April 2010
What's more annoying is when like an hour goes by in a flash and you've not got much to show for it. I've been doing a re-imagining kind of thing of the LeChuck's revenge cover art in photoshop and it's taking ages :p

No, we're all holding out for that one unfortunately. It's gonna be a looong wait :(
  • I thought this was coming in Spring for some reason... Guess it's been pushed back to Summer. :(

Didn't LucasArts say something like that?

Nope, it has always been set for summer. Maybe you confused it with the announcement of LCR:SE (which was this month, thus in spring).
  • Dang, you're right. Since everyone knew they were going make LCR:SE, I assumed the "exciting news" in spring would be it's release, not it's announcement.

I was hoping they'd make the Weenie Hut a bit bigger, since in the original the thing is like the bloody TARDIS! Guybrush is nearly as big as the hut itself but when he walks inside it's like this huge kitchen with large windows!!

Guybrush's pants are like the TARDIS.

    neither am I! BWAHAHAH!

I would be more interested to see how they animate that scene in the SE...
  • edited April 2010
A thought has struck me recently about LR:SE. If they use the same interface as the first SE (pulling up verbs and inventory with the keyboard), the ending segment of the game (at least) will be a nightmare to get through. The way that you have to act quickly in the tunnels to use the voodoo doll on LeChuck for instance, or how you have to pull LeChucks undies (hehe), if they don't simplify the interface somehow, it could possibly ruin the experience of playing ending, for the first time, fully voiced.

Since there is no confirmation on the interface style as of yet (all that we know is that it's offscreen for gameplay), what sort of interface are we all hoping for in MI2? Verbcoin? Cursor cycling? Or something new?
  • edited April 2010
Sims-ish? You click on a hotspot, the verb table pops up and you click what you want to do?

That makes no sense. The gimp suit is for the submissive. Bondage suits do not put a person in a dominant position.

that ship's been waxed to death :P
    how does one not slip?

It's a CARTOON. And, you know, cartoons defy the laws of physics.

Actually, I'm starting to wish the colours were a little more vibrant now. Otherwise it's quite nice. I like the new pose too :).
  • edited April 2010
Looks like a little too many photoshop filter cheats... but otherwise OK...
  • edited April 2010
It actually seemed pretty detailed. I can see parts of the inside of the ship, such as the steering wheel, through the windows. Which is actually more piratey than the original, not having glass windows on that boat.

Only the outside was waxed, so it actually sails by slipping on water from one point to the next.

LucasArts, enough of this! Give us a video, or have at thee.
