Nobody has said that we would be able to. There has been NO announcement about where you can buy it for the PC. Even the official site just says "PC Digital Download" and nothing more. We know Steam have got it, because you can already pre-order it, but there's nothing to suggest Telltale will or will not sell the game whatsoever.

Is that for England v Germany?
Because England is so gonna win... at least I hope so :p

    Germany: 4
    England: 2...uh - 1 (sorry :D)

    O.O

    oh my...

Okay, before leaving this thread to its original purpose again: With France, Italy and England out I'm actually wondering what Germany's still doing in South Africa! ;)

For those of you who use XboxLIVE, MI2:SE is now listed in the Arcade section, you have to browse 'all' [but you can click the M button to speed things up.] AND you can rate the game already. When I last checked it was at only 4 stars  with about 130 ratings, so get out there and help push it to 5 stars if you feel obliged. I rated it 5, which probably goes without saying.

I know technically I haven't played the SE yet so maybe I shouldn't rate so soon but really it's MI2 so I already know it's gonna be a 5 star game. :)
  • edited June 2010
I think its ok rating it a 5 early considering the original game is intact.. all the extras is just cherry.

BTW on PSN the first Special Edition is number three on popular downloads...

So, with this special offer on Steam (where if you pre-order LR:SE then you'll get SoMI:SE for free), how does it actually work? After pre-ordering, do you just purchase SoMI:SE normally, and all charge will be canceled on checkout?

Just preorder LR:SE and after the checkout you get it, no need to add it to your cart.

I've decided to not watch any more spoilers, or I'll have seen it all before I play. Then I wouldn't be wowed, and I want to be wowed a lot!

Is Dominic Armato going to do Largo's voice like he did for the Mixin Mojo April Fools wavs? I thought he did pretty good in sounding like how I thought Largo would sound like.

(sorry if this has been asked...)
  • edited June 2010
Nope, Largo's voiced by another actor. Apparently it's the same guy that voiced Smirk and the Scumm Bar cook in the last game.
In face, he's the only actor so far that's been grating in his delivery of dialogue. I wish that Dom voiced him, but the script for MI2 is possibly the biggest script in the series, so Dom already has enough to get through as it is! Not to mention that from the gameplay videos and such, this sounds like it could be his best performance yet!

    ah, thanks for the info

why do people keep posting that one scene, that is just cut out of this? (already posted 11 days ago)
  • edited June 2010
One extra reason why getting the game off Steam is better than getting it off Telltale: Achievements. 'Nuff said.
  • edited June 2010
why wernt there steam achievements for somi:se?
  • edited June 2010
Guys, there aren't any achievements for MI2:SE on Steam either. Only XBL.

Here you go. It's been mentioned on mixnmojo.com, too.
  • edited June 2010
Huh. Then why doesn't it have them on the store page? And why don't they update SMI:SE with the XBL updates? There's no reason why they couldn't. And also add speech in classic support, too...

I hate having to wait till they finish speaking to switch between for nostagia fun
  • edited June 2010
Erm, you can switch whenever you want to!

I ment SMI and I wanted to here the cool VA before switching
  • edited June 2010
Does anyone know if voiceover in Classic mode can be turned off?
  • edited June 2010
Yes. Craig specifically said in a video interview at E3 that it was optional. Even if it wasn't, you could still turn the speech volume all the way down as with SMI:SE.
  • edited June 2010
    Sexcellent

It's cool they allowed for the option of voiceover with old graphics, but they should still have the untouched original version avaliable too.
  • edited June 2010
That's what they wanted for SMI:SE which is why they didn't put speech into it. So of course they'll move that over to MI2:SE as well.

Want the untouched version? Use ScummVM and play the original game.

Which you can rip right out of the special edition data files.

Well this is strange. My dad has accepted my gift of SMI:SE on his account but it still shows up in my list as "Sent" and not "Redeemed" allowing me to select a new recipient if I wish. And when I do that it shows my dad's account listed as "Already owns this item". Have I stumbled onto two gifts? Or will it show up as Redeemed afterwards? Or does it only show my dad's account as owning this item because I sent the gift and he hasn't accepted it yet?

And if you want it in true DOS, the executable from any Fate of Atlantis demo renamed to monkey.exe should work, since it is the same SCUMM version. A CD with the proper audio tracks has to be present, since the game scripts check for their presence.
Only downside: it is English only.

Assuming, they'll do it the same way for Monkey 2, there is one catch: you will need the code wheel when playing Monkey 2 in DOS.
