Mix 'n' Mojo... hacked?
Can someone tell me what is wrong with this picture?
I have a sneaking suspicion that this is just a cruel April Fools joke.

The background music on the page gives it away.
But I have good memories of that music.
Yeah, it is. I'm just wondering how long this is going to last.
Sometime in 2012.
I'm afraid it hás been hacked...
... yeah, that's a new one.
There are a few things weird about this though, which make me think that it might still be innocent.
First off, it's weird that the site went crazy on April Fools Day, of all days. But on the other hand, maybe that's exactly what the hacker planned, to lower our suspicions. I'll admit it, if that was their plan they managed to trick me!
Whoever did this seems like they could be a Monkey Island fan (the background music yesterday, the skull and crossbones today). And what reason would a Monkey Island fan have for hacking a site dedicated to adventure games and LucasArts classics?
But then, what reason would the staff have to randomly do this? Unless of course they are completely remaking the whole site.
Yeah... I'm being no help at all. I have no idea.
EDIT: And here's a picture for the history books.
"Lunatic" is an ASCII artist. Either the Mojo staff or the hacker must have pulled the pic from a random site.
The hacking earlier this year was real, I think. The site was actually attacked and had malicious code injected.
The Brazilian flags and cookchase.mid this time imply that it's a joke. The whole Mojo/LucasArts Fan Network server was notoriously overtaken and erased by some script kiddie from Brazil five years ago, and that midi file used to blare at full volume on Mojo if you tried to go to an unauthorized directory.
Don't know why it's up past april 1st though.
maybe because its Friday and one of the guys in the office thought casual friday was the perfect time to bust out his daisy dukes and the rest of the team is sick in the bathroom..
It's not just that it's up - the site only changed to the ASCII skull on April 2.
The "powered by mojo" minisites are still up and running (like mojoart, lucasfic, and all the game guides).
I will miss all the excellent "in retrospective" articles.. Is all the hard work you put behind it truly lost at sea??
Damn you, Brazilian pirate hackers!!!!!!
But remember.. If Guybrush can rise from the dead - you can too!
DEAD?????
did you mean....DEAD?!?!??!??
Don't they have backups of the site?
Cannot they change the host site?
Come on, i think that there must be a solution...
If they need money we can organize a fund for donation....
Also to you, Telltale guys, Mix n mojo was the N.1 to sustain you, providing constant news about your product.... let's do something about it!
I miss the site so much!
Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mojo back on Easter Sunday.
I don't think code works that way. Obviously not accurate even if it was hacked, but it seems a bit dramatic to put it like that. Suspiciously blatant Easter reference there.
I really hope they do come back all shiny and new on Easter. I'd be sad if it were actually dead.
Never mind the part where they said the hackers "crucified" them. :P
Well that's a blatant lie.
It's ok, Mojo! We found your database!
I'm totally calling shenanigans.
Code monkeys working behind the scenes! Slavery because they like it!
*whips the monkeys*
I'm crushed... I just hope they can recover and if not, that the hosted sites remain untouched...
Anyone else think the Brazilian flag with a skull on it that SkonkBad posted makes it look like the Sproutella logo?
Nah, it didn't kill the joke. It made it better by going for the whole 4th-wall-destroying-ridiculousness thing.
It's not there anymore, but over Good Friday there was an ASCII art picture of the Brazilian flag with a skull and crossbones on it on the main page, instead of the "It is Finished" message that's there now.
