Dark Wings, by Within Temptation (well, ANYTHING by Within Temptation, but Dark Wings gets stuck in my head the most)
45, by Shinedown
Blackbird, by The Beatles
I'm barely scratching the surface, of course, but these are my most recent brain hijackings.
"Ducktails WHOO-OO!"
Recently I've had the Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers theme going around my head. That and the theme to Ulysses 31.
ooooh lah rah mah mah!!
this post got this song stuck in my head all day, because of the "same as it ever was" part
I always just thought that song was called "letting the days go by". The things i've learnt today
it's a world of hopes, it's a world of fear
there's so much that we share
that it's time we're aware
it's a small world after all
it's a small world after all
it's a small world after all
it's a small world after all
it's a small, small world
Well, if you can admit to that, I suppose that I can admit that I keep getting Tik Tok stuck in my head. Goddamn Kesha.
On a more positive note, I also keep getting Re: Your Brains stuck in my head. Anything by Jonathan Coulton is an awesome thing to have stuck in your head.
And it was your heart on the line,
I really f*&%ed it up this time,
But didn't I mind it?
Didn't I mind it.
(or something like that)
I hate that song something diabolical
And this one, to a lesser extent. There's a Section Quartet version that's even catchier, but methinks this one still works on that level.
But because my brain hates me, I also get commercial jingles stuck in my head at random. Stupid freakin' Lap-Band ...
A bit of a strange, slow-burning, oriental, complex riff that 50% of rock fans would dislike, but the 50% would adore. I'm one of the latter, I think the riff is utterly brilliant and very unique! The chorus, however, is very straight-forward - a very driving, rocking, traditional, sing-along chorus. Like many Deep Purple tracks, the keyboard and guitar share the same riff which always creates a great effect, but in the middle of the song Steve Morse (lead guitarist) and Don Airey (keyboardist) each swap solos before they break back down, with the band, into the magnificent main riff. The drum beat also fits in perfectly with the riff (an almost impossible feat), the keyboard and guitar coincide brilliantly, Gillan's vocals are top notch while bassist Roger Glover just puts down a bass line that's almost as cool as the riff itself - the whole band just showcase their talent and chemistry on this track. This song is unlike any other rock song I've heard before; it's very sophisticated, very different and very good - an incredible amount of musical talent and expertise packed into six minutes of brilliance. Any self-respecting rock fan should give this song a listen.
