...No, it's not genius. It's an annoying and horribly obtuse way to do something obscenely simple. Also you did it wrong.

    Completely wrong.

In fact, I'm not sure how you could have done it less wrong.

First, you didn't actually upload the images to these forums. You created bad image links to files which are still located on your first computer's hard drive. Notice how they say file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/User/Desktop/Pivot.gif/ in the file name. That won't work. You might as well expect me to see a file located there, and I think you should know I can't. Therefore, your 2nd computer can't either.

If you wanted to use these forums, you should "attach" the files in advanced mode when posting, however it is annoying to the rest of us to see such spam, and there's a file size limit that I'm not sure if you're going to hit depending to the size of the images. Basically, just don't do it that way.

Second, you don't need to use these forums for that. Not at all.

The easiest way would be to copy the files to a usb key and then transfer them from the usb key to the 2nd machine.
    l01106501.jpg

If you can't do that, then I can suggest uploading the files to a file hosting website.

Since you're transferring images, you can to this one of two ways:

    1) use www.imageshack.us. You can upload very large image and video files and such to their website, and just write down the url and type it in on your 2nd machine.

    2) zip the files (or not) and use www.mediafire.com. If you upload them to mediafire as one zip file, you only have to download them once and then extract them.

Or, because the computers are likely on the same network, just share the damn folder and open it on the other computer.
  • edited April 2010
Yes, there is that. However he might run into a permissions problem and I don't feel like explaining how to fix that.

And of course, there's always the option of e-mailing them to yourself as an attachment.

or burning them onto a cd.

or copying them with floppy disks.

or copying them using the usb port of a digital camera.

or setting your house on fire.

I use Skydrive, even if it does let Microsoft steal my work for later use in their bid to conquer the world. Which would probably crash anyway.

Speaking of which, any of the cloud storage options that give out 2GB free(and there are, what, five of those?) would also accomplish this task fairly well.

No, really... you have NO IDEA what's wrong with this?

So let's see if we're at a clear level of understanding here. You're using a method that won't work to steal games from one of the few truly independent game studios out there, which isn't how that works, and then bragging that you've done so on their forums.

There isn't a word for how stupid that is.

Oh, you're 12. Suddenly it comes slightly more into focus. However, at 12 I can't really remember if I thought stealing was cool. Or rather failing to steal.

Either this is the boldest person in the world, or just the stupidest. I don't want to say "stupid", but I'm attempting to consult my vocabulary for a proper replacement word and, honestly? It's a straining, stressful process.

How does that support Telltale making more awesome games? They gotta pay their overhead somehow.

Does common knowledge like the fact that you can steal things really impress 12 year olds these days?

Hey folks I just found out an awesome trick that you can use at ANY supermarket! You pick up the stuff you want and put it in your pockets instead of a shopping cart. I did this with a can of bread and two sacks of olive flavored potatoes but you could try it with anything.

Also, I learned that if you walk up behind someone and reach into their back pocket you can take their money sometimes. But that's a big exploit so don't everyone start using it at once.

Actually, Torrents aren't stealing, people upload these to help people get full versions for games or any other software,so it's actually like donating games or software to people who won't dare to pay credit card money!

"Donation" would only be applicable if you no longer had your own copy after having given it away to someone, and then one time only per copy you had.

I admit to having downloaded a torrent of SMI:SE, but that was after I bought a legit copy from Steam and didn't want to load the Steam client when I play the game.
