"Donation" would only be applicable if you no longer had your own copy after having given it away to someone, and then one time only per copy you had.
I admit to having downloaded a torrent of SMI:SE, but that was after I bought a legit copy from Steam and didn't want to load the Steam client when I play the game.
steam is only for playing network games, so why don't u uninstall it
Damn, I was hoping to find a site that had the files on it instead. So much more satisfying to report those.
By the way folks, if anyone wants to report illegal software downloading sites they can do so anonymously or nonymously at http://www.theesa.com/. Which is a great site to report piracy of any kind.

Steam isn't just for "network games."
Network games suggests multiplayer. SMI:SE isn't multiplayer and I bought it the day it came out. I only heard about it being on Steam, and at this point it's my only Steam game. Besides that, I heard recently that Direct2Drive can have DRM on their games that makes modding difficult in certain cases.
Should this conversation be a good segway into a discussion about DRM and piracy?
I personally think the illegal actions have driven those who make the laws to start oppressing honest people. It's kind of what happened at the airport, in a sense, a few bad apples have spoiled the barrel.
Who is Mr.Argyle is he a telltale games web secretary or telltale games website bodyguard
Mr. Argyle is [TTG] Yare. Here's something you may not know. Telltale employees frequent these forums. If you're unclear on the implications of that, let me break it down for you.
What you've done here is the equivalent of going to the store, picking up a game off the shelf, walking out without paying for it, and then going to the offices of the company that made that game and bragging about what you've done to the people you're stealing from.
Given your actions in this thread, I'd say you can pretty much expect a ban. If not, then the Telltale staff is far more charitable than I would be.

I agree.
You know what...
I bought a Switchfoot album... Nothing is Sound, I think. Ah, I don't know which one, but basically it works fine in a CD player, but when I put it into my computer, WinAmp doesn't recognize it as an audio CD. Instead, it appears to be some kind of hybrid-disc that wants to autorun some Flash applet when I want to listen to music from my computer.
I don't remember what exactly I did to get mp3's of the songs, but I can tell you it was really a pain in the ass.
well I have a trick for you! did you know you can take sam and max or any other telltale game without paying! I did that to get strong bad's cool game for attractive people. it is easy download bittorrent download any telltale game torrent and wait for the download to finish!
Ok, this is just stupid. It doesn't matter if you ARE just a kid, pirating is still pirating, breaking the law is still breaking the law.
And, like others before me have said, you are out of your tiny mind to confess to this on Telltale's website. I think this is the second time in as many days that someone has admitted to pirating Telltale's games on this forum. And regardless of your situation, it's still wrong.
I know I'm arriving after the fight, but did "external hard drive" ad "memory card" get mentioned?
For the record, sending it in an email would be my first choice in many cases. Flashdrive and memory cards come next (not first because you have to find them). Then I'd use MSN on both computers since they're in the same apartment (I can use my account and my husband's). Then probably uploading it somewhere.
And if that fails, I'd use my mp3 player as an external hard drive.
Also, why do the forums get active while I'm asleep? Now I'm up and I bet it's going to be dead again. I'm pouting.
My first choice would be a shared network folder. I find it AMAZING how many people still have each computer as a separate "thing" that isn't connected to the rest of the network. It amazes me when someone says they have to actually move something from one computer to the other using a thumb drive or something to print, for example.

I don't actually know how to do that, but since we use the same Internet I guess that means we're on the same network?
I always say "network" things as the stuff they have in offices or Internet places where there are 10 computers in the same room.

You, my friend, are a pirate. Do you know what pirates are?
Might I ask, are you trying to get banned?
Sure sounds like it. I dunno what will happen to you when Mr. Argyle himself shows up...

A better example would be Ubisoft's new DRM that requires you to be online and in communication with their server at all times while you're playing the game. Penny Arcade did a pretty good job of summing that one up.

Or at least definitely not the first.

Come back in 2 years, kiddo.
