Regarding the bit of Nintendo Wii discussion on the first page... I'm under the impression that if you send your console to Nintendo for warranty replacement, they can transfer your account from the old system to the new one, so you can redownload your games. Not sure if you'd have to specifically request for them to do that for you, but I am pretty sure that they can. Might be worth checking to see if they are listed as "purchased/downloadable" in the Shop Channel, even if the versions from your memory card aren't accepted.

Also, on the topic of PS3 DRM, there was some freaky news today:

Capcom's Final Fight: Double Impact on the PlayStation Network -- the game requires you to be logged into the PlayStation Network so as not to abuse the "PSN Sharing" feature.

    Ouch

I'm still wondering whether this actually works like they intended it to. I'm not sure if a downloaded game can actually determine on which account it was purchased. So far all information I found on this game seems to say that it requires you to be logged in during play, but not that you have to be logged into the account you originally used to purchase it from. (the PS3 standard DRM doesn't require you to: as long as the user exists on the system you can use any account to launch).
