Unofficial Telltale Chatroom

edited May 2010 in General Chat
Forum member Didero has set up an unofficial chat room on CentralChat for our various forumgoers. Just sign on via an IRC client or come by here and enter #telltale. Avistew in particular would like to have a few people to chat with, so she has requested everyone be informed she may be sharing uncensored photos!
(Or not.)

Does this CentralChat have a specific server name or do I have to get that customized IRC client? I really would like to connect from the regular mIRC.

EDIT: Nevermind, apparently it's on mIRC's default server list.

For anyone else wondering, I simply entered the server as "centralchat.net" and it worked for me on Xchat with the channel as #telltale.

Do it! This chatroom is beast!

It's pretty cool, I will not lie. Now it's time for me to be shy.

Sounds like a nice idea. I'm glad there is a simple method for those who never used an IRC client before. *points at self*

I'd like to point out that if you log in, say nothing and leave, like at least a dozen person have done since yesterday, I'm not going to know you were there.
I check periodically how the chatroom's going, but it only warns me if you say "avi" or "avistew". I thought of setting it up to warn me if people say "hi", but since 0% of the people logging in say "hi" before they leave, that would be pretty useless >.>

So, just letting you know, just type "avi" and I'll be notified and show up to chat. If I'm in the list of course.

Good to know. I haven't signed in yet. Probably will tomorrow though.

I'll pop in during the active times. I have a constant 24/7 connection to IRC through my server. Also an IRC nerd since '05. So if you need an op to keep the /topic clean and the /banlist plentiful, I'm willing.

Just went there for a moment and there's only a sleeping pecan and not a single op, so I won't stick around until the thing has a few more in.

I always stick around since I have mIRC open almost forever on other servers to keep track of logs. So you'll most likely always see me there as long as my lappy is on, even if I'm away. (if I'm there on my normal name and not saying anything you can do the same thing for Avistew and say "pecanblue" "pecan" or "pb" to get my attention)

Ahh! You're the resting nut! I was a bit afraid to grab your attention. I'm allergic to you nutty people.

for the record, the CentralChat server is irc.centralchat.net

Also, if you have mIRC, CentralChat is already on the list of available servers.

Sounds great. At any given time I'm in a load of channels. What's the harm in one more?! :)

"/server centralchat.net" works for me. I've been on #telltale a couple of times now, but I've mostly been idle.

I am on there now if anyone wants to chat a little..

Thanks for setting it up... maybe a dev feels like chatting by chance. :P

Edit: NVM, it has already been invaded.

Adding Ops is really easy. The trouble is deciding who would make a good op. Preferably somebody who's responsible, and online a lot. Technical knowledge isn't really required, kicking and banning isn't too hard, and anything more involved could be left to more tech-savvy ops.
Since it's a community chatroom, everybody should have a say in it. Any suggestions who would make a good op?

I'm the best moderator because I'm opinionated, stubborn, and easy to agitate!

I'm on there now. I haven't used mIRC in ages ^_^

I'd say at the very least the TTG Staff should have op.

Of course, that requires them to register a nick with the server. It isn't hard, obviously, but it still requires at least one visit (and you have to know their nicks) before you can give them a specific access level.

I used to run a clan for an mmo I play, so I'm quite familiar with how to change channel settings and stuff. I also can be quite mature in dealing with out of hand situations when called for. ...just thought I'd throw my name in for consideration.

I just have to say that the chat room can be awesomely nonsensical at times.

Don't bother asking for advice in #telltale. It goes to Monkey Island very quickly:
16:21 < Tea> Alright. I need some help with this dilemma.
    16:22 < Tea> Beard
    16:22 < Tea> Or no beard
    16:22 < roumeaz> halfbeard
    16:22 < ShaggE> Mustache.
16:22 < Tea> Yeah see it's one or the other right now. Can't be too adventurous.
    16:22 < roumeaz> i liked guybrush with beard
    16:22 < roumeaz> i like myself without beard
12:07 < Avistew> I guess I'm more a fan of having sex wth the TTG guys than a fan of their games.

Done! And it didn't even require them to register :)
All Telltale staff that visits the chatroom in the future should be automatically opped.
