Love is strong, hearing as loud as gunfire away,
We're never wrong, constantly dreaming of another way.
If love is wrong, go ahead and end the world with your charades.
We're never wrong, constantly dreaming of another day.

Serj Tankian - The Charade (alt. title "Charades")

EDIT: Thinking about it, I could probably add the vast majority of the lyrics on "Elect The Dead". I haven't been this hooked on an album in a very long time.

Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
    Cause I'd miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
    I'd still miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing

    So up they picked me by the big toe;
I was held from the rooftop, then they let it go.
Dizzily screaming let the windows down,
as I crawl to the ground.

If you'd only, if you'd only say yes.
Whether you will is anybody's guess.
God only, God knows she won't let me rest,
but I'm just so tired of this loneliness.
I've become so tired of this loneliness.

Coldplay; Viva La Vida - Yes

Roughly translated to english by me:

    If you go to Chile
    I beg you please go
    where's my lover lives
    It's a house
    really pretty and small
which it's located in the side of the hill
    It's near to a stream,
    decorated by wines
    and there's a willow
    which cries and cries
    because I love her.
    If you go to Chile
    I beg you traveler
    please tell to her
    of love I'm dying

Of course it's way more poetic in Spanish, but the idea is there =P

Been in my head for the past week or so (although I've always loved this song).

Everybody knows you've been discreet, but there were so many people you just had to meet without your clothes.
    And everybody knows
    .

    Leonard Cohen - Everybody knows.

    Everything has its price
    Everything has its place
    What's more romantic
    then dying in the moonlight?

Now they're all watching the sea
What's lost can never be broken
    Her roots were sweet
    but they were so shallow

    And now she's dead
    Forever dead
Forever dead and lovely now - Dead and Lovely, Tom Waits

Trust your mechanic to mend your car
Bring it in to his garage
He tightens and loosens a few spare parts
One thing's fixed, another falls apart
    And the rich eat you

A magazine says your face don't look quite right
Unless you wear our brand new wonder creme tonight
    Never look right again
    Unless you grease your skin
Again and again and again and again
    Gonna rip you off

    Told you're depressed
So of course you see the psychiatrist
Right when you hit your neuroses' roots
    He confuses you
He fucks your head up worse
    Gotcha feeling helpless
    You're comin' back for more
    Again and again
    Gonna rip you off
Rip you off - Trust Your Mechanic, Dead Kennedys

    I am the Baker
    I bake the cake
Make no mistake, I like to bake
    Once I discover
    My innate behavior
To mix, to make, to bake!

    Up in the morning
    To start my work
I cannot help wanting to bake a dessert
    Like a gladiator
    About to meet his fate
I enter my arena, bow my head and start to bake! - The Baker, The Aquabats

I love the whole song, but especially these lines:

"See, I do believe anger is offset by sorrow
But you destroy today you might regret tomorrow
When you're young and defensive it comes off offensive
And it's hard to repay the tolerance that you borrowed"

My favorite song by my band

    "The Untitled"

    "Welcome to the end
    Of your one night stand
    We're worlds apart

    Death defying fools
Who think that they are cool
But you know that they're not

    Got to understand
    Since we began
    We were already through

    Grabbed life by the horns
    Never to see the thorns
    That were always there

    Chorus
    Let go
I hear the thoughts of the ancient fears again
    Let go
I see the memories of a life erased
    Let go
I will never feel your touch again
    Let go... Let go

    Welcome to my past
    Almost didn't last
    To get to you

    Didn't you ever see
What I was meant to be
Or is it you didn't care

    Almost erased
    By those I disgraced
    To become what I am

    Never will forget
    Where I began
    Right next to you

    Chorus

    Welcome to my dreams
    Where I live out things
    That will never come true

    Twisted fantasies
    Inside those dreams
    Never to be the same

    Damnation toys with me
I'm on the edge of sanity
    Live in a troubled past

    This is all I do
    Because of you
    And my broken heart

    Chorus X2

    WELCOME TO MY LIFE

Back story- I wrote it while strung out on heroin (among other things) about my best friend Randy's death (he died about two weeks prior & from the same shit that I was doing might I add). He basically saved my life by preventing me from being hit by a car & we became close... yet at the same time he partially ruined my life for the close to 4 years afterwards by introducing me to drugs (which caused major problems in my family). Still yet he was like a brother to me & I miss him to this day.

I should note that I now live a straight edge lifestyle & I highly recommend that others do as well.

    From others-

Instead of posting the lyrics to this one, I'll post the actual song, as it's all in the delivery. The lyrics by themselves are cheesy as hell (they remind me of something I'd have written in my angsty teenage goth years), but they completely work in the context of the music. Just get past the wannabe Lestat voice interjected throughout.

Because this thing is hilarious: Neil Patrick Harris - Drives us Bats!

He always has a sidekick, some Boy Wonder at his call,
His utility belt holds everything, can't find that at the mall,
The batmobile is super fast, there is no car that is surpassed,
It's a good thing we've got Arkham because he really drives us bats!

    Drives us bats!
    Drives us bats!
He really drives us bats! Bats! BATS!
    He drives us bats!

Whether dancing the Batusie, or using an array of tools,
He's always got the answers, he makes us look like fools,
He's got no super powers, he's just a flying rat,
It's a good thing we've got Arkham because he really drives us bats!

Drives us bats! (World's greatest detective)
Drives us bats! (Foiling every evil scheme!)
He really drives us bats! Bats! BATS!
    He drives us bats!

    Even without shark repellent,
    He's tougher than he seems,
    Other heroes often ask,
Why is he always the top cat?
    He drives us bats!
    Drives us bats!
    Drives us bats!

I love Batman the Brave and the Bold. ^^!

    I'm your only friend
    I'm not your only friend
But I'm a little glowing friend
But really I'm not actually your friend
    But I am

Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
    Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul

I have a secret to tell
    From my electrical well
It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells
So the room must listen to me
    Filibuster vigilantly
    My name is blue canary
    One note, spelled L-I-T-E
    My story's infinite
    Like the Longines Symphonette
    It doesn't rest

Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
    Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul

    I'm your only friend
    I'm not your only friend
But I'm a little glowing friend
But really I'm not actually your friend
    But I am

    There's a picture opposite me
    Of my primitive ancestry
    Which stood on rocky shores
    And kept the beaches shipwreck-free
Though I respect that a lot
I'd be fired if that were my job
    After killing Jason off
    And countless screaming Argonauts
    Bluebird of friendliness
    Like guardian angels it's
    Always near

Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
    Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul

    While you're at it
    Leave the nightlight on
Inside the birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul

(Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch) While you're at it
(Who watches over you) Leave the nightlight on
(Make a little birdhouse in your soul) Inside the birdhouse in your soul

Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul

(Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch) While you're at it
(Who watches over you) Leave the nightlight on

I always feel nervous when I talk about what music I like, because I like just about everything I hear. But now that I'm thinking of The Wall:

    But it was only fantasy
The wall was too high, as you can see
No matter how he tried he could not break free
And the worms ate into his brain
    (Pink Floyd - Hey You)
I've had that kind of experience.

    Does anyone remember Vera Lynn?
Remember how she said that we would meet again
    Some sunny day
    Vera
    Vera
    What has become of you?
Does anybody else in here feel the way I do?
    (Pink Floyd - Vera)
That's the whole song, and it's my favourite on the album

I'll stop before I type out the lyrics to the whole album. I heard it at a time when I was having a lot of problems with depression and anxiety.

    Before I met you
I used to dream you up and make you up in my mind
(Cobra Starship - The World Has It Shine But I would Drop It On A Dime)
I don't know about the repetition, but I like the sentiment.

Heya Tom, it's Bob from the office down the hall
It's good to see you buddy, how've you been?
Things have been OK for me except that I'm a zombie now
I really wish you'd let us in
I think I speak for all of us when I say I understand
Why you folks might hesitate to submit to our demand
But here's an FYI: you're all gonna die screaming

All we want to do is eat your brains
We're not unreasonable, I mean, no one's gonna eat your eyes
All we want to do is eat your brains
We're at an impasse here, maybe we should compromise:
If you open up the doors
We'll all come inside and eat your brains

I don't want to nitpick, Tom, but is this really your plan?
Spend your whole life locked inside a mall?
Maybe that's OK for now but someday you'll be out of food and guns
And you'll have to make the call
I'm not surprised to see you haven't thought it through enough
You never had the head for all that bigger picture stuff
But Tom, that's what I do, and I plan on eating you slowly

All we want to do is eat your brains
We're not unreasonable, I mean, no one's gonna eat your eyes
All we want to do is eat your brains
We're at an impasse here, maybe we should compromise:
If you open up the doors
We'll all come inside and eat your brains

I'd like to help you Tom, in any way I can
I sure appreciate the way you're working with me
I'm not a monster Tom, well, technically I am
    I guess I am

I've got another meeting Tom, maybe we could wrap it up
I know we'll get to common ground somehow
Meanwhile I'll report back to my colleagues who were chewing on the doors
I guess we'll table this for now
I'm glad to see you take constructive criticism well
Thank you for your time I know we're all busy as hell
And we'll put this thing to bed
When I bash your head open

All we want to do is eat your brains
We're not unreasonable, I mean, no one's gonna eat your eyes
All we want to do is eat your brains
We're at an impasse here, maybe we should compromise:
If you open up the doors
We'll all come inside and eat your braaaaaaains!-Re: Your Brains by Jonathan Coulton.

was take out the small wheels of my bike
Now I can go full speed
and the girls squeals when they see me pass

I'M COOL (Yes you are cool)
    INMORTAL!
    There's small wheels no more!

I'm Freddy Turbina on the wheel and beware kids I'm hot!

No more shame when I pedal
    No obstacle will stop me
I have a new concept of happiness
    I found my Spiritual Balance!

I'M COOL (Yes you are cool)
    INMORTAL!
There's small wheels no more! (x2)

    (Never, never again) Knees grazed
(Never, Never again) Shame on the street
(Never, never again) Laughing of kids
(Never, never again) Make fun of me!

I'M COOL (Yes you are cool)

(My Spiritual Balance - 31 Minutos (Sorta translated from Spanish =P)

I totally forgot how hard I laugh the first time I hear this song. It's hilarious. And worse, totally true: Because I took out my training wheels too one day!

Subterranean Homesick Alien by Radiohead (about aliens looking at humans and thinking we're uptight) -

    Up above
    Aliens hover
    Making home movies
    For the folks back home

    Of all these weird creatures
    Who lock up their spirits
    Drill holes in themselves
    And live for their secrets

    They're all uptight

Pins and Needles by Billy Talent (about a guy who ruined a relationship through his jealousy) -

I never walked so far on a lonely street,
With no one there for me
It took so long to see her in misery
And now it’s clear to me

That it’s worth the pain, always take the blame
    For all your own insecurities
How did I ever let you go?

    Pop's&Bowie's China girl
    :
I could escape this feeling, with my China Girl
I feel a wreck without my, little China Girl
I hear her heart beating, loud as thunder
    Saw the stars crashing

I'm a mess without my little China Girl
Wake up in the morning. Where's my, little China Girl?
I hear our heart's beating, loud as thunder
I saw the stars crashing down

I'm feelin' tragic like I'm Marlon Brando
When I look at my China Girl
I could pretend that nothing really meant too much
When I look at my China Girl

I stumble into town just like a sacred cow
Visions of swastikas in my head
    Plans for everyone
It's in the white of my eyes

    My little China Girl
    You shouldn't mess with me
    I'll ruin everything you are
    I'll give you television
I'll give you eyes of blue
I'll give you a man who wants to rule the world

    And when I get excited
    My little China Girl says
Oh baby just you shut your mouth
    She says... shh
    She says... shh
    She says
    She says
