Thanks for your support and dedication. We sincerely appreciate your devotion to our project, and we hope to do you proud. It may be some time before you start to hear official announcements, but we are hoping your support helps raise awareness and confidence for an updated re-release of Toonstruck.
As you are... aware, much of the game was never released due to time and budget constraints. We are evaluating the cost and time to incorporate these assets into the initial re-release. In the coming months, I will do my best to get you behind the scenes peeks into the development process.
Thanks again for your continued support, and I hope to provide you with more news soon.
I played Toonstruck back in the day and really enjoyed it. I still have the manual but sadly I lent the disc/s to my dad and they where gone when I got his stuff after he died.
Never released that it was unfinished / that there was a Toonstruck 2 lurking (or if I did, I have long since forgotten). While I'd love to play an updated version I highly doubt they'd get it released.
Last time I checked, no. You'd have to use DOSBox and stuff. That's one of the reasons why we hope they'll rerelease it
Crap...They BETTER make it for the Scummvm. But then again, chances of that happening is when Grim Fandango, Love for sail, and the neverhood head to the Scummvm.
I just finished Toonstruck, I really hope there is a sequel! Am I the only one who thought the Sunglasses puzzle was similar to the Babel Fish puzzle from Hitchhiker's Guide?

Now that you mention it, they do seem a bit similar.
Speaking of similarities, did anyone else think...
[Toonstruck/Sam and Max Season 1 Spoiler]
...that Toonstruck's big mid-game cutscene is a bit like the scene where Sam and Max confront the villain in Bright Side of the Moon?
In both games, an innocuous, benevolent character is revealed to be an evil villain that has a master plan for the whole world to be happy; the villain reduces the protagonist's wise-cracking sidekick to a perpetually blissful, glassy-eyed abomination; and though both of the villains are named Hugh, they aren't truly what they seem to be...
Anyway, I sure hope this Toonstruck sequel gets off the ground. It has been a while since that petition started, but it's good to see that it hasn't been completely forgotten.

It hadn't occurred to me, but wow, that is an oddly specific parallel. Weird.
This hasn't been forgotten, the petition is still going and we could be getting some more news from Keith Arem about this within the next few weeks. Keep signing the petition and join the Facebook page and let others know cause Toonstruck 2/Directors Cut could be happening.
Some big news from Keith, posted this on the Facebook page
'We're currently working on an enhanced re-release of TS1, but we may add some of the TS2 content if we can afford to do it. We'll likely re-build our fanbase, and then move onto TS2 next.
Just read this on the Facebook page from a Trevor Greer who is involved the enhanced edition
Well Ladies and Gentlemen, I have good news for those of you who are looking forward to the re-enhanced version of Toonstruck.
My father and Keith both worked at Virgin (Interactive?) and they are overseeing the project. As well as this, I play a part of this project.
The re-enhanced version is beginning to gain momentum and we are in the process of gathering all the old data from the original source code.
We hope to have stuff for Comicon this July, so check out the PCB Productions booth at the convention!

Trevor has just answered some fan questions one in particular telling which platform its coming out on first;
1. I believe our current goal lies with a handheld version of the game. But, depending on its success, repackaging it back for PC and Mac isn't too far off.
2. What I mean by "Re-enhanced" is that we are taking all the old backgrounds and sound files and upping their resolution to match the ratio of iPad, iPhone etc.
3. We don't have any current plans to send it off for a windows platform at the moment.
4. While it may be going for Apple products, im not sure if we will have it for Android. Time will tell.
5. Once I find out our booth number for Comicon, I will be sure to let you guys know so you can come on by! I will probably be there helping out all (5?) days of the Convention at the booth.
Oh man... it's like the ROTT tease all over again...
(3D Realms: Big ROTT news coming!
Me: YAY!
3D Realms: Phone port!
Me: ... All of my hate.)
Well remember the Broken Sword Remastered editions were on handhelds first then went to PC, maybe their following that method. Either way its hopeful this time its gonna sell since more people are aware of it then they were 15 years ago.
Just read this, after so many asking why a PC version isn't getting released first, Trevor has responded with the following;
"I'll tell you what guys. Next time I speak to Keith, I will ask him about what his opinion is about adapting the game to PC and Mac computers. Possibly through Steam."
He also went on to say;
I forgot to mention, please refer people with questions to this thread. I am unsure of what TS communities there are.
Thanks Guys!
Never played the first one, though I've been looking for a copy for years. Still, they say that the new version will be an extended version of the old one.
That's good news about a PC port anyway, but why did he have to drop the S-bomb?
I've told them several times that GOG.com would make more sense to put it but they seem to ignore the suggestion. If it goes on Steam it won't sell as much but put it on GOG and they will be surprised.
Also glad to hear that another fellow 1996 game The Neverhood will also be getting re-released on all mobile formats.
Well I really hope that this will happen. I was over the mountain when TT went official with the relase of TMI - waited 15 years for this to happen. And then suddenly SCUMM got Toonstruck working on their latest release. I cursed the day I left win 98 and also the fact that I never understood how to run it on DOS box. But thanx to SCUMM I can relive the wonderful world of Toonstruck. So an enhanced version or even a part 2 would be soooooo damn cooooool!

Because he KILLS TOONS!!
But, seriously, I would love him in Toonstruck 2.

With the SVN version it actually works quite well, there are still a few kinks to iron out though, but nothing game-breaking.
The Toonstruck 2 community released a launcher for new year!
We can actually play Toonstruck on a new pc now!

Hey all -
Just to add to Drew's post...We are not affiliated with PetitionSpot and are not asking or collecting any money from fans.
Please keep up your support for Toonstruck, and thanks for your patience and keeping it alive. More news to come!

Hey all -
We're still quite a ways off, but I'm hoping we can make an official announcement by Comic Con or later this summer!
We appreciate your enthusiasm! Keep the dream alive!

Anyone here going to Comic Con???
If not, we need to recruit somebody to go specifically to liveblog news about this for us. :P
Great news. I hope this leads to a Toonstruck 2
*waddles away*
I like it but then I'm a sucker for a good (or perhaps that should be bad) pun.

(Hopefully it gets a 3DS release though... now that would be interesting...)
