Dragoncon.

edited August 2010 in General Chat
So who's going? It's pretty much an East Coast thing, but I've seen people from around the world in years past and it's pretty much on the same scale as GenCon and E3 in terms of attendance. I'm going - surprisingly enough not as Andrew Ryan and I would love to know if anyone else is.

I didn't know that you had a bathysphere that connected to Georgia.

I kind of live across the street from the thing, so of course I'm going.

I really should give more thought to abandoning the troll profile and joining the community. It's ok, though. Other than the support system that grew up around Hartsfield International, Atlanta is fairly remote. Oh, there's also the whole railyard thing that got the city burned down in 1865. Either way, it's remote enough for an eccentric billionaire's bathysphere thing. It's in Lake Lanier. Don't try to find it... there's splicers.

Request a name change to Ryan Andrews and change your avatar.

Ok, then. I've decided. I'm ditching Andrew Ryan and coming up with a new name. Suggestions, anyone?

He could always go with Andrei Rianofski, Ryan's name before he changed it when he immigrated.

    Sergeant Fluffles?

...and I've no idea how to change this profile's name. Assistance anyone?
  • edited August 2010
You have to request it. This is where someone more helpful than me would give you a link to the thread in which name changery requests should be made.

Think of something that represents you, like Icedhope is a mixture of my favorite band, and a girl I dated in HS. I've kept it because it flows and it's easy to say.

Dave E was in charge of the name changes. You can find the thread in the support forum (site & forum support) but I don't know if anyone does that now that Dave's gone.

It's ok, I think Jake offered to do it once if it would stop my in character trolling. Fact is, I've come into contact with a few members of the community and rather enjoy it here. Ergo, I'd rather not be a pariah. Jake, if you're reading this I want to be called Comrade Pants. Make it happen... please?

You might want to try PMing Jake or Alan. Who knows how long it could be until they notice this thread, if they even do.

I have to say, it did get old at times, but I'm still going to miss Andrew Ryan a bit. I can't imagine why the hell that is.

Also, good choice with the name. It's pretty hard to go wrong with a name that has "pants" in it.

It's alright, cheer up. You needn't miss Andrew Ryan. I'll still be pretty obnoxious, just not in character obnoxious.

EDIT: I've sent the message. It's the end of an era. At least, I would like to think my trolling was an era on the forums. Really, though; I pretty much jumped the shark on it.

Now is anyone actually going to dragoncon?

Neither is your face, but you don't see me whining about it.

I'm so sorry, that was uncalled for.

I honestly will miss Andrew Ryan. It was fun to watch. :(

    I don't give a hoot about DragonCon... but Andrew Ryan isn't a mega-troll anymore?

That's like saying, "Did you know that all the letters in 'Andrew Ryan' can be found in the words 'And', 'Drew', 'Rye' and 'An'?". It's not much of a coincidence.

And how'd you get you're name changed by Jake, Pants? I sent him a PM long ago and yet no response!
