Presenting The Telltalliance!

edited September 2010 in General Chat
Icedhope and myself were discussing it, and we thought it would be a great idea to start a Steam group for members of the community to organize and play multiplayer games together. (Not meant to encroach on Telltale's great TF2 group, this is for other games as well. :D)

You can check it out here, and let us know what games you'd be interested in organizing events for! We're open to just about any suggestions, as long as we can find a nice server to play on. :)

Unfortunately, I too have also joined, counteracting the coolness.

Feel free to also join the chatroom on the group page. :)

I Joined! So I'll bring back a certain coolness to the place.

That's why we started a new one. :)
    the name is dumb

It was all I could think of in the 5 minutes I spent thinking about what to call it. :p

All the same, it means I REFUSE TO JOIN!

...until you have a healthy selection of Civ V opponents.

That may be very soon, however I will not be among them as I'm too cheap to upgrade from Civ IV just yet. :p

I'll be getting Civ V though probably not until after my birthday, which is in a couple of weeks, in case someone actually gets it for me! Ever hopeful, I am.

    Nice! I'll join now.

Joined! Looks like an interesting group.

Good, we're all glad, we don't need you in our superfly group... dawg

I've got my fingers crossed that my cousin in PR can get his mitts on a copy for me, cos I can't be affording new releases at the minute :(

I joined. But I definitely don't plan on getting Civ V, so, yeah. :p

I've never tried the Civilizations series (which is odd because RTS pretty much constitutes the largest portion of my game library). How is the gameplay? Like, is it more similar to Age of Empires/Starcraft or to Total War? Or, is it something completely different?

You guys shouldn't be playing that. It's an evil game.

It's not an RTS, so it's not at all like the first two. Wouldn't know about Total War. The combination of city management, diplomacy and war is not entirely unlike the Master of Orion series, if that means anything to you.

I've posted an event for this Friday evening at 5pm Central to play some Alien Swarm. I figured it'd be a good game to start out with since it's 100% free. :D

There's a game of Left 4 Dead/Left 4 Dead 2 starting somewhat soon. Pop into the chat so we can sort it out, there's no better way to bond than blowing the heads off the undead and munching pills my mother always said

Sounds sort of similar to about half of the gameplay in Total War (the bit that doesn't involve learning complicated field maneuvers). Hmmm, maybe my Latin teacher will lend me a copy...

I'm sure one day I'll have a game that is multiplayer, it may not be soon, but I joined the group anyway.

Alien Swarm is multiplayer and 100% free on Steam.

We are having an event to play it in 30 minutes. :D

I was thinking of downloading that. I can't play tonight though. First, it said it'll take two hours to download, second, it will be 11:30pm when you start playing. Way too late for me. I'll hopefully be asleep. ;)
