A friend of mine from the USA is coming to visit. We're going to Asakusa to ring in the New Year.

I'm not Christian, though, but I will be going to Tokyo Disney for Christmas Day. Uni is giving us an all inclusive ride pass and a round trip chartered bus for 5000¥, why would I pass that up?

Not sure what I'm going to do for Chanukah, though. Anybody want to ship me a chanukiah? Or a sevivon?

I'm going home for a family Xmas thing in December, and after I get back from that I may be hopping across the channel to France with a flatmate for a bit. nothing's definite on the latter plan though.

It's super cold in winter, you'll have no problem chilling out, hurr hurr.

On the plus side if the canals freeze you can skate on them

I'm going to Disney World, Florida in August for one week, and then spending a second week in Orlando (to visit Universal and other places). It'll be my third visit to the states, and my third visit to Florida.

    Sadly not...

I'm still dreaming of getting on my space ship one day and doing this awesome trip, out into space...

Until then i right now also would be happy if i could be in a lonesome place, away from all the people and enjoy the elements, the sun going down, some icemountains drifting by, listening to the sound waves make when they're lifting the stones, or just enjoy the silence/wind and watching the clouds drifting by, ...

Btw, not only sound related this is a very good movie.

I don't even know the meaning of the word.

I've never gone further than 200 miles from my home. :(

I'm going to California at SOME point. Need to wait until I get my residency, then I'll get a new passport, and then, off to Cali for a month!

No trip planned until then, and I don't know when "then" is...

Next trip planned is Pax/DragonCon, if and only if I have my residency before then. Possibly combined with Cali if I get my residency soon before PAX/DragonCon, in which case I'll just spend my month before, after or around the conventions.

I wanted to spent 2 weeks in England for Christmas, to spent some time with my boyfriend.
But I don't think is going to happen, but I can always hold the 2 weeks after Christmas. :)

As a California native I have to ask out of curiosity: Which part of California are you going to be in?

The Bay Area is awesome. And I'm not just saying this because that's where Telltale is located. Not at all. :D

I think it might just be possible anyway, but I will think it over during the weekend. Because I could also spent Christmas with my family. But then I only have 1 week left, and I don't really think that is enough time to spent the money on the tickets.

But I will think it over as I said. :)

I booked the tickets to go pick-up my boyfriend at the airport next month. I figure it kind of applies?

Cool, that's about 2 hours away from my hometown. It's a pretty good place, even if San Francisco is a bit weird in a few places.

When did you move to the UK? Was it for your studies or something else?

I moved to the U.K. at the end of September. I'm here for a year to work on a Masters in Medieval Studies. I'd like to stay on another year or so for my doctorate, but that's only if I can find a job, since moving here for my masters (plus all the housing and everything) is eating up my entire savings.

That sounds awesome :) Moving across countries is a great experience. I definitely hope you can find a job and stay a bit longer (however can you really get a doctorate in just one year? Would you be doing it in double-time or something?)

I've definitely been enjoying my time here so far. It's the first time I've ever been out of the states too. At age 22. I...don't know if that's sad or not.

If this were anywhere else I'd say no, but if you're doing nothing but studying it's possible to complete a thesis here in a year. Granted most of the PhD students in my house have been here for at least two or three, so that's probably more likely what it'll be for me if I'm working, but so long as my VISA doesn't have any hangups and I can sustain myself financially over here, that's not to big of a deal...

If I had any vacation days I'd go somewhere, maybe out to Cali to spend sometime with my sister.
