R.I.P Two Legends

edited December 2010 in General Chat
As some of you may have heard, it's been a bad day to be a nerd.

Both Leslie Nielson and Irvin Kershner have both passed away.

Raise your toy lightsabers in salute of two who helped shape us into the people we are today, and remember to quote as many of their films as possible.

Suddenly, the world feels empty... I think I'm going to go cry now. :(

    I heard about this today.
Sadly I don't know Irvin Kershner.

It's really weird Leslie Nielsen died. He always seemed like this indestructible guy who would live for eternity. He also reached exceptional fame here in Holland since he did a series of phone commercials for a dutch provider.

R.I.P. for the both of them.

Irvin Kershner directed The Empire Strikes Back, Robocop 2 and
    Never Say Never Again.
Without him, Empire may well have been more like RotJ.

    Exactly. RIP.

And yeah, that director was awesome. RotJ still had traits of his more dynamic, serious influence, lame-ass Ewoks be damned. RIP.

What I find cool about Leslie is that he is half Danish. All great actors need a little Danish in them. :D
And yes I am talking about him in the (presence?), because he will live forever in the great films he made, and in our hearts. :p

I feel like watching Wrongfully Accused, Mr. Magoo and Naked Gun. :)
Who doesn't like looking up at a pair of beautiful legs with 4 knees, and Magoo walking of a helicopter wearing a wedding dress into Niagara Falls. :p

A nice bit from the German satyre magazine Titanic:
Actor Leslie Nielsen ("The Naked Gun") died at the age of 84. As the Florida State Police announced, Nielsen, while shopping at the supermarket, slipped on a mushy avocado, fell over a box of melons into his shopping cart, running through a pyramid of cans out a window where the cart ran over several cats and grandmas until it was stopped by a fire hydrant, so that Nielsen was thrown from the cart into a sex shop and impaled on a vibrator. Witnesses described the events as "very sad" and "absolutely hilarious".

    I bet Leslie would've loved that :D

    You will be missed, Frank.

Both of them have profound impact on my childhood and teen years..... amazing talent.

You know that means that George is the only remaining Star Wars director....... :(
