Kid Beyond.

Why have we been seeing so much of him lately? At last count, he's been...

Max in Culture Shock.
Bugeye (and other, less important characters) in Tales of Monkey Island.
The Narrator and Papierwaite in The Devil's Playhouse.
Bo Murphy (and some others) in Puzzle Agent.
Tycho in Poker Night at the Inventory.
And now Biff Tannen in BttF.

I'm not trying to complain, since he is a talented voice actor, but it seems really strange he's been in everything Telltale's done since ToMI. Is it their way of making up to him for being replaced as Max or something?

No, he's just one of the Telltale regulars, he has a good relationship with them and enjoys the voiceover work most likely. A couple other regulars being Roger Jackson, Brian Sommer, and now Nikki Rapp.

Don't get me wrong, I love Andrew's work up until now, but doing the voice of Biff is a tall order even for him IMO. And I can hear the Tycho inside his Biff impression, which ruins the whole thing for me.

    I'm sorry, I was a little disappointed.

I don't think we've heard enough of Biff to have an opinion, although I do agree that it sounds a bit odd so far.

But yeah, it's just convenient for Telltale to make repeated use of local, multitalented actors, because they can call them back to the studio easily.

Plus I mean, how can you say no to this guy

For some reason, if Sam Neill isn't available, I can totally hear Kid doing a great Alan Grant impression...

But first try to get Neill! :p

I was disappointed in the voice choice for Biff, but not enough to make me go..."OMG I'VE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED IN MY LIFE!"

    I'll give it a chance.

You forgot that he's also Phoney Bone of the Bone series.

The name "Kid beyond" sounds like an old NES game.

The name "Andrew Chaikin" sounds like a cartoon squirrel.

Kidrew Chaikond is pretty awesome, but I was disappointed by the lack of Tom Wilson, I won't lie.

I would compare him to Denny Delk in LEC's old days. A good luck charm, if you will. :p

Andrew Chaikin is a good voice actor but he just sounded wrong as Max in 101. I also don't think he nailed Tyco but that's a tall order and he did a good job considering.

To be fair, he didn't have time to develop his Max voice. I mean, Kasten sounded pretty weird in 102.

I don't agree that supporting characters are less important, without them games would be almost lifeless to me. I love replaying games for their side characters you can interact with.

As history writes nostaliga look at the most famous games, and people's favorite characters, such as the pirate of low moral fiber...

Games would be life less without supporting characters and can you imagine islands that have no supporting characters. Supporting characters are just as important as the islands/ locations their self. Without supporting character you have a life less piece of dirt, or an extremely boring monologue between a character and his inventory...

For example I loved Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, but when you get to Atlantis, you don't see anyone for long periods of time. The game keeps you interested with its puzzles, mystery, atmosphere, pacing and tone, but it's a definite bonus when you run into Nazis, Sophia, etc etc. It feels like you've accomplished something.

Severely introverted video games are more conceptional than they are realsitic and adventurful. Every good adventure game I remember has amazing side characters, supporting characters.

    AVS had amazing supporting characters.

Even in a game like The Last Express people walking the train give the game so much more life....

He did sound a bit off but at the same time so much better. He's a much better fit for the role in my personal opinion.
