YES, you have paid 24.95$ and now own ALL FIVE episodes.

edited February 2011 in Back to the Future
Just wondering if I preorder the game if I get all five games for the price or is it just for episode one and I have to pay for the other episodes as they are released?

You pre-order all five episodes and get each one as they're released.
  • edited December 2010
Also, episode 1 is technically free. :D

You pay one price (25$) and get all five games.

Plus a bonus dvd which you only have to pay for this price of shipping.
And if you preorder it, also a free epsiode of puzzle agent which is a great game.

Bonus DVD is only here though, not when ordering it elsewhere (like the sale on GamersGate for example).

    Hi,

so I was like on fire for the release tomorrow and wanted to buy I it but then I thought, well, 24.95 USD is OK, but we already know there will be four more ... so what's the pricing with them?

When I played through EP1 I'm sure I'll want to play the others too. But I wouldn't want to pay ~25 for each of them, would be > 100 USD in the end, no way.

So unless something is certain I'll probably wait for another year or so and buy the all-in-one low price package I guess ... ?

    Any insights on that?

    thanks,

    BTTF ftw!

The $24.95 is for the whole season.
    ;)

Yes believe me when I say one episode is not worth 24.95
They are great episodes and will be a lot of fun, but not worth that muck to me. 24.95 is great for the full season though.
    Plus episode 1 is free.

Please also note that these are adventure EPISODES. One episode will last about 2 to 4 hours gaming time, which normally shocks TTG newbies out of their wits. ;)

    And welcome, welcome! :D

Welllll... I think we're over that idea now. At least partially. :)

I never really got into the old LucasArt adventure games to be able to enjoy all the fan service of the other titles, but BTTF is going to be a nice way back moment. $24.95 is a reasonable price for a game that should be about as long as your average game altogether.

Hello and Merry Christmas! Are all of the episodes for Back To The Future included in the posted purchase price?
  • edited December 2010
Yes, and so is the DVD with all the episodes + extras that you can get after the season is over.
  • edited December 2010
Will the dvd be posted to the address that I provided when buying the game?

Not automatically. When the DVD is released (Or is about to be released), you will be able to add it to your cart in Telltale's online shop, and it will be posted to whichever address you specify at that time.
  • edited December 2010
You have to make an additional purchase when DVD is available to be purchased in the store. Because you already have the season the system automatically will reduce price to 0.00$s (plus shipping). There you can enter your address. But there isn't much of a thing to do right now.

    OK thanks.

Hi, new to Telltale Games, but long time Back To The Future Fan. So I just purchased BTTF:TG episode 1 and was wondering if this purchase will include the other episodes or will they have to be bought individually as they become introduced?
  • edited December 2010
It, of course, includes all 5 episodes.

You can't purchase episode 1. You purchased 5 episodes, and will be allowed to download them as soon as they are released. (one per month, though episode 2 is coming in february)
  • edited December 2010
Thank you for the quick response. I was hoping so. After I made the purchase I had a fear that each episode would be another $20-25. Glad to hear it and can't wait for this to finish downloading.
  • edited December 2010
And actually, you might find episode 1 a little too easy and short, but this episode is "free".

Telltale games usually cost 35 dollars, BTTF only 25 ;) .

25$ for all 5 episodes... welcome to the telltale-addiction :D

Be warned though, it's a slippery slope from here. $25 might not seem like much but before you know it, you're selling your body on the streets just to get that next fix...

    You have been warned.

Gotta go now, I have a burly, hairy sailor demanding my services :(
  • edited December 2010
Hate to tell you guys but I just got it on sale for 22.49!!!
  • edited December 2010
i own every single game. at least twice.

and i bought so much merchandising stuff with this handy 80% coupon you got as a preorderer.

its just horrible.... i wish i would never went to this website and all of its great games... i hate telltale......

edit: yeah, if you want to, you can say, i sold my body... and everything.... a long time ago....

Oh man, that's a lot of sailors. Do you want me to pass your information on to A.A. (Adventurer's Anonymous)?

I loved the movie and thought a point and click game would be fun. The game was fun but then I beat it in less than a day. So what did I pay $25 for? I better not have to lay out any more money for the remainder of the episodes. I wish we could have had more chances to explore the town and interact with the characters.
  • edited December 2010
You have played 1/5 of what you've paid for. You can play upcoming episodes with no extra cash whenever they're available.
  • edited December 2010
Yeah telltale creates "seasons" instead of full games.
The $25 was for the whole season, not just that one episode. The next "episode" is due to be out at around february.
Until then if you preorderd the game, why dont you enjoy puzzle agent?
  • edited December 2010
I'm curious if Telltale does this with their other games? Paying for the full season before it's out? I don't have a problem paying $25 as the game will be well worth it in the end, but I would've preferred at least the option to pay $5 per episode as they were released. :/

They've always had full seasons available for preorder ever since they started doing full seasons starting with Sam & Max Season One. They used to have individual episodes, but most people were buying the full seasons, so they switched to only season purchases on PC and Mac starting with Wallace & Gromit.

$25 is the cheapest full season they've had yet at pre-order time. The seasons used to be $35 for a full season and $9 for an episode. So, it seems we're paying for full seasons but getting cheaper prices in return. :)

Generally speaking, no. The only way Telltale knows that you have bought one of their games is if you buy it directly from them. Buying through other means still gets you the downloadable games but unfortunately you're not eligible for the DVD.

I think for /one/ of their titles (ToMI or S&M:TDP, can't remember which), they managed to tie things in with Steam but considering I don't use Steam I don't really know.
  • edited December 2010
Yea its each 24.95 for each episode. Imagine how popular that would be!! ;)

I recall it was for TDP, but it wasn't for Steam users that wanted the free DVD. It was for PC users that wanted the TF2 Max Hat. Anyone got the game from Telltale Store got the same game on their Steam account. But Steam buyers couldn't get the game on their Telltale accounts, sadly.

No, Steam customers usually can't get the DVD.

Darn, there I was hoping that each episode cost 24.95! That way I could feel like I was playing some elite rich person's video game.
