As a Seahawks fan I'm not exactly in love with the idea of the Steelers (Stealers) winning another Super Bowl. Go Pack!

I really want the Packers to win it... but the Steelers are a really great team. It will be a really close game I think, and a pretty exciting one to watch...

I was not aware that Australians followed the NFL.

Ordinarily, I'd say "boy did you ever pick the wrong forum for this thread", but I'm aware that not all geeks are as anti-football as I am. Unfortunately for me, neither is my dad. Total opposite of me, and with all the remote privileges.

I enjoy football... I usually only care to watch it when playoffs start.

I was born in Australia but my whole family is American. I took an interest in the sport after going to an exhibition game when I was up in Seattle visiting my Grandmother about six years ago or so. I've been a mad supporter ever since.

Crazy as that all is, it makes sense. So, having been raised by Americans in Australia, which accent did you pick up?
  • edited January 2011
Australians think I sound American, Americans think I sound British, and the British think I sound Canadian. I've yet to meet a Canadian so I don't know if the circle will close and they'll think I sound Australian or if it will just keep going and they'll think I sound South African or something random like that :o

Well, at least you're unique, right?

Okay, I promise I'll stop derailing this thread.
  • edited January 2011
I do not care if its derailed... the poll speaks for itself.. the conversation here can go where it will, its more interesting that way.
  • edited January 2011
I thought that was a given on these forums. :D

You misspelled "Stillers"... Saying "the Steelers have won too many. Go Packs!" is like saying "America has won too many. Go Taliban!" (Not saying Packers are evil. I love the Packers. Just not this week.)

Packers deserve it more after watching Favre throw away season after season in the playoffs.
  • edited January 2011
It would have been funny if the Jets had beat the Steelers... because then it would have been the Pack Vs. Jets... two of the last teams Favre had played for.... Ending his career in Minnesota was a pretty big slap in the face for many Packer fans..

My team is the Eagles, but I'll just say Steelers cause they're from Pennsylvania too. :p

I have to disagree with that analogy. :p

Well my sister still wants the bears to win.

    She is now depressed.

Green Bay is not Americas team. The idea of "Americas team" is a load of crap.

When I was little, I liked the Horsey Heads and the Root Beers. Can you figure out who they are?
  • edited February 2011
As a Minnesota Vikings fan, I'm not happy the *ugh* Packers are at the Super Bowl.

However, out of obligation I do have to root for whoever is repping the NFC, so... I'm (reluctantly) rooting for the Packers this year.

My co-worker -who's a p. big cheesehead herself- is over the moon. Peh.

Packers don't deserve it, they got into the playoffs by a disallowed Tampa Bay TD against the Tigers (off. pass interference call the NFL ruled a mistake afterwards).
  • edited February 2011
As a Seahawks fan I'd just like to say it's not how a team gets into the playoffs that really matters but what they do when they're there that counts ;)
  • edited February 2011
I love the Packs. They're a great team. I just love the Stillers more. I hope that we can pull out a win.

It will be a tragic event if the Steelers win.

    To this, I concur.

I don't think I could handle it as a Browns fan.

    OK, I hate you.
  • edited February 2011
I'm definitely the most sympathetic of the two of us though, clearly.

    So everyone should hate you.

You're logic is flawed. You like the Browns. That's un-overcome-able.

I didn't know the Browns had fans... :p

I went to their site... one of their BIG stories is about a Packer player... go figure.

They could be lions fans, I wonder if lions...fans will still hate them if they did go to the superbowl.
