I can't say I'm a fan of theme parks in general really, especially ones which are fairly expensive and not easily accessible via public transport. I don't mind travelling some where if I could do it (mostly at least) by train and that it doesn't cost a hell of a lot when I get there. And alcohol has to be involved.
For the record, HELL YES I AM SO ON BOARD WITH THIS. Lindisfarne Mead is one of the few boozes I buy here in York. The other most frequently bought booze is Battleaxe beer and that's just because it's metal.
Ye know if there's a gaming event on sometime that would be pretty sweet
There's Memorabilia in Birmingham and London. It was always fun when it was in Glasgow. UNTIL IT STOPPED COMING TO GLASGOW. Well FINE then Memorabilia, you stay south of the border and I'll just go to the model railway exhibition instead of spending vast amounts of money on 80s toys!
ETA: Actually Memorabilia wouldn't be much good, since the Birmingham shows are in March and November, and the London one is in October.
I've just had a thought. As awesome as getting drunk would be, I would imagine it would be impractical for alot of people (myself included!) Due to transport. Afterall, drink/driving is a bad idea, and public transport has the right to deny service to drunken people. If we were to do something like that, we woud have to factor in a hotel or something.
This is a great idea. I expect my airline ticket to be sent immediately. Which one of you is in charge of transportation ? Now to fabricate a passport.

I don't think theres any order yet, but I did come up with the idea
I think we all got distracted by stuff. Also, something like this needs someone to be a ringleader who'd pick a place, arrange a hotel and research travel information, and no-one really stood up to do that.
I mean, if we could agree on a time and place, that'd be a start. We could all at least look into it on our ends.
So I'll kick off the suggestions again with the Doctor Who Exhibition in London. Maybe we could go on a group trip of that along with other London tourist crap, maybe catch a film or (god-help us if it's not Spamalot) a show. Plenty of hotels around London if we want to get drunk, and it's easily reachable by public transport.
Just a thought, since the DWE is something I'd quite like to see!

ooh, i'd love to see the first half of spamalot! I ended up missing the first part due to having a job interview which overrun, and then getting lost in Bath. Also, the bus didn't turn up (although that only affected my friends who I was going with. We ended up all arriving at the same time, just as the train was leaving the station.).
But My summer is kind of busy. I've college until July, I'm looking after the house then whilst my mum goes away, i've got another trip that month to London and I'm going on holiday in August. So, i'll stay out of the date suggestions, and maybe just join if I can make it (although July 2nd would be nice, as that is when i'm going to London anyway!)
Lessee here..., London attractions: Science Museum (free, with some paid for stuff like imax and simulators), London Dungeons(£22, River trip+London eye £19, Sea-life £10 (can all be done on a combi ticket) Doctor Who Experience (It's £5 entry tomorrow, £18 otherwise), Lion King (the stage show).
Prices are from what I can remember from googling them last night to organise my other London trip.

What he said but yeah, I'm interested. I like the idea of London myself.

Haha, I love camping, it's pretty cheap to do as well.
And that "bollocks to alton towers thing" also sounds pretty fun!
Plus I live in America.
Whatever we do, it should involve lots of alcohol. IT MUST BE SO.
But yeah, I agree. Alcohol would be nice. Drunken rollercoaster rides sound pretty awesome too...
Oh the humanity of those below the rollercoaster
Poll now open! Hurry before it ends! (it never ends)
Hey, if the boot fits... :P
...LET'S GO TO THE PLACE THEY MAKE LINDISFARNE MEAD!!!
It is too late for that
We are dooomed
dooooomed
Just assume that alcohol should be combined with everything, and it'll all be fine.
Considering I just clicked this thread on a whim, this was the weirdest thing to read out of context.
Use [alcohol] with [everything].
Heres a picture of my friend doing the activity "drunk camping" last summer
Looks like it could take off if you ask me!;)
Before I scrolled down to see the grass, I thought it was a dude windsurfing

Sorry, couldn't finish that with a straight face. We'd never get into Madame Tussauds, it's always busy. But still! Ideas!
