Yeah, that'd be Latin. Forum is one of those fun Neuter nouns that conjugates the way you don't think it would. Also, at it's most common definition in Latin Texts it means 'marketplace' so, yeah. The more you know and all that...
Actually, I was referring to it in the sense of the literal ancient Roman fora rather than the Latin conjugation. Both forums and fora are considered valid words in modern English. There's actually quite a bit of debate over the proper term thanks to computer terminology (much like with viruses/virii and mouses/mice).
Yay...wait, what's a Gruru? Personally though, I tend not to care about things like this. Indeed, on another forum where I'm one of the major contributors (but not a mod or admin, just a long-term resident with a lot of knowledge), the highest-posting but still actually helpful members are known jokingly as the "postmonkeys."

Yeah I know I factor high post count as Forum Guru criteria, but there is also the way the post is formulated, and being able to give advice or have a proper conversation, and there you do come in.

I wasn't arguing that it wasn't a valid word now (btw how do you differentiate the literal forum with the Latin noun describing it? That doesn't make sense), I was merely commenting that the original Latin (which includes the ancient Roman forum and it's pluralization fora, since Latin was the language of Rome) is literally translated 'market place'. The concept of the forum was an open aired market which served the secondary purpose of being a meeting place. The temple among other buildings opened out onto the forum and election speeches, political discussions, debates and many other functions naturally occurred in the forum because of this.
Tangent aside....
The fact that this topic exists makes me far happier than it should. XD
I got my thoughts out, and I said what I wanted.
I crossed a line I was afraid to cross and I learned a few things.
I got positive and negative feed back.
And all of it is useful and I will take it as an experience.
So thank you all for reading, and helping me cross the line safely.
I was just clarifying that I used Roman instead of Latin for a specific reason; I wasn't addressing the use of the word in terms of the language of Rome (Latin) but in its very nature as Roman. It's confusing, I know. Frankly, you can get the same problem discussing things that relate to both the language and nation of many locales these days what with linguistic ubiquity.
Sorry, you are also a Forum Guru.
As I say to all who feel they where left out, it all comes down to personal opinion, if you feel you are a Forum Guru then you are.
Haha, no worries, I know I'm awesome already. Hence the statue of me that's being erected in front of the Telltale offices.
...
No, seriously, you guizes! It's totally gonna happen! ... guys?
I just wanted to say that most of the posts of the people mentioned in this thread are the main reason I keep reading these forums. Normally I would have lost interest in a forum like this a while ago but the people and characters that populate this place keep it interesting and vibrant. Kudos to you guys and gals.
I don't know how the OP missed Irishmile! He's like the older brother of these forums. Plus he has a higher post-count than everyone on that list save Dashing.
I am sorry Tom, those people was just who was at the top of my head, but yes you are also a Forum Guru, if not the Forum Fool more (That is meant in a nice way.) You are always there to put a smile on everyone’s faces, and I like the fact that you can do that and still come with points to conversations that makes sense. Real Forum Guru material in my book.

Those sequels are just a myth! *grabs you by the shoulders and starts shaking you* A MYTH! A MYYYYYYYTTTTTHHHH! *bursts into tears* Just...a myth...they're just a my-hy-hyyyyyth. *sob*
*hugs Fawful* I wish they were man. I have sat through all of them and wish only the first one existed. however, as a connoisseur of bad films, I cannot deny their existence.
Guess Who?
The Who?
Horton Hears a Who?
Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?
Doctor Who?
Anyway, I'm definitely NOT a guru. I just can't have an opinion on a debate or have a thought without it changing so quick. I read the first post of a thread and begin to formulate an opinion, then I read the first response and I see the point the first responder is making, so my opinion sways. Then someone will post why they think the opposite and I see what they mean... it's a bit of an endless circle. I think it's because I don't know enough about whatever the subject is and because of that, I can't hold an opinion long enough without agreeing to someone elses point of view. I just end up learning things and not making any useful contributions myself. I'm think I'm better at listening than expressing myself.

I know it's shameful.
No, shame in letting people know you think of them.
I was just kidding around. It's good to see some positivity on these forums.
You know, it's not to late to pay tribute to Irishmile, let him know what an awesome guy and community leader he is
I don't really think there is anything shameful in that, only if it was negative though.
I know you was, and I think Irishmile now this by now. Don't know how he feels knowing he is the Great Grandfather on the TTG Forums.
I said big brother. He looks out for us and is never mean spirited, which is probably very unlike a real older brother but it's just an expression.
While we are at it you know who else you should tribute? That Woodsyblue guy! Isn't he a stand-up gent <_< >_> <_<
Well mine is funnier.

Come to think of it, I am even more than happy to think I am the only one who thinks this, means I am special in my own way.
