Maybe they are waiting for us to play more Telltale games to generate the necessary computing power to release the game.
No!! Telltale don't do it, don't copy valve! Don't get me wrong portal 2 was amazing(<---- Seriously one of the best games ever made)! But that whole potato sack thing was messed up. Charge loyal fans $40 dollars for some Indie games on the hope that it would be released a few days earlier. But no they set it up so that you got it only three hours before everyone else did. ( i know they got it 10 hours early but that's only cause steam wasn't going to release tell 7am on Tuesday and they got it around 9 pm on Monday. So people payed $40 dollars to play a game three hours earlier than anyone else.
i just dont understand this "hey come pay for our product ahead of time and we'll give it to you whenever we want" kinda attitude. if they wanna play like that, we should be able to "promise" our payment would be delivered sometime in the 5th episode, whenever we feel like it... sorry just aggroed about this whole system since i got introduced to it with monkey island...
pretty much just aggravating all your loyal customers, and when i tell my buddies about the games they get psyched, i mean back to the future?? jurassic park?? you cant go wrong with these childhood classics. then i tell them about the monthly release dates and how they are unpredictable and they are all turned off to the point they wouldnt even bother with it... just stupid IMO...

Well, they promised to deliver it in April, they *never* tell a specific date. So they do nothing wrong, you just expect too much.
expect too much?? no sorry i dont expect too nuch, actually never complained about it before, but the release dates edge closer to the end of the month every single release it seems, and from reading other topics such as ipad not getting episodes at all after the 1st one... just very unprofessional in my opinion but hey what do i know right?? off the top of my head, i dont think we were informed about the episode 2 release in feb instead of january... low move in my book, but it was holiday season so that can be forgiven of course, but a heads up a little earlier than the end of episode 1 would have been nice...

I completely agree and they're getting worse. Back in the early days they would give release dates well in advance and release the episode between 9-10am on the day. Now we’re getting stealth releases which is a complete joke.

You should actually be happy with how fast Telltale games come out. Most companies announce a game one-two years before they release, and sometimes they are pushed back even further. Last Guardian was announced in 2010, and today they said it will be out late 2012. Gears of War 3 got moved from April 2011 to September. And then of course there are games like Starcraft II or Twilight Princess, which spend years kicking around before they come out.
With BttF and Jurassic Park, they were both announced last June. The means, for BttF, just 5 months between being announced and being released. That's one of the shortest wait times in videogame history. Their release of episodic content allows them to have the game out earlier. They could have, instead, just kept the game until Fall and released it as a package then, like they're doing with the console version of Jurassic Park, but they chose to do this so you could have the game earlier. You should thank them, instead of whining you have to wait an extra week to play the next part.
And all they've ever said was that it would be out in April, so not "whenever they feel like it".
the last episode the icon was up in the 'my games' tab earlier in the day the same day it was release. It's not up yet so that does leave me to believe it may not be today. We're probably an hour away from closing time.
Of all the strange banners at the top to change now when Jurassic Park and Back to the Future are nearing release...: Hector Pre Order Episode 1.....is that weird or what? LOL
I know this has nothing to do with Telltale games But maybe to pass time you could play "The Next Big Thing" Which came out a day earlier than announced & is downloadable at the adventure shop....That is what I'm doing while I wait...Just finished Black Mirror 3....Just a happy suggestion!!:D
i mean, yeah im sure we'll all have too big of smiles on our faces when it finally comes out, but it sucks. i know i only deal with it because all the games i have played from telltale have been eff'in awesome. i've played monkey island since the beginning and learned about telltale because of it. and like i said earlier, back to the future and jurassic park, the selections are homeruns every at-bat it seems. but that is always a double edged sword. People will flock over and buy these games because the title alone means so much to them, but at the same time its hard to keep people in their seats for this long about something a alot of us are passionate about
I'd like to think that I am but on the off-chance that I may have given an incorrect prediction, I'd prefer it if no one showed up at my door with pitchforks and/or torches. I'd rather not have to deal with an angry mob.

in a way you hold a point, i dont come to forums to fight, just state my opinions and read others alike.
that being said, telltale isnt every other game company, they been doing this method for years, and if practice makes perfect they should be getting better at it by now. and seeing as the release them pretty much as the games are getting finished, its understandable for some delays, it would just be kinda cool if we'd get a little info on whats happening i guess.
for example, i think i read somewhere that last episode was a little delayed for the fact they got jennifers voice or something like that?? updates and info like that is always appreciated more than being left in the dark hitting the refresh button all day
also... 4/20 woulda been a great day to receive either of these games... i guess in that case, i wasnt expecting too much, but hoping for too much, oh well hehehe
If you guys have noticed, Episode 2 and 3 were released when a previous episode was released for another system. and since tomorrow is ipad's release for episode 2, it could also be the release for ep 4 for PC/Mac!

You're not thinking fourth dimensionally! Tomorrow a lot of pages will be added to this thread, so your message won't even be there...

Telltale has not delayed a single episode thus far. Each episode was released the same month they announced when they released the original schedule. Episode 3 was released March 28, but that was still March. If they released episode 3 in April, that would be a delay. So far, they've been right on schedule

exactly. And i keep offering the naysayers the following alternatives
1. Would you rather they post an optimistic release date and then not get it done in time?
2. Or would you rather they post a safe release date (ie. april 30th) and hold onto the finished game until then as opposed to releasing it when it is finished?

Sorry had to rant somewhere...
Why do you say that? It's Wednesday, they still have two more days.
from TELLTALE's Facebook:
Back to the Future: Episode 2 - Get Tannen! arrives on the iPad tomorrow, 4/21! It's time to turn your time-circuits on!

sorry had to vent
Yes I know, just a hunch. Esspecially because the last three were released on a monday, tuesday or wednesday.. But your right! Got to stay positive!

...So by that logic, wouldn't it make sense for Episode Four to be released on Thursday?
Excuse my wishful thinking.

An hour and ten minutes but yeah, we can eliminate today as a release date.
Mmm.... Maybe your RIGHT. Thursday it is!

does this mean we are getting episode 4 TOMORROW?
How exactly did you get anything about episode 4 from that Facebook post?
And.... Just give us JP

Right, right. I have a real problem with that.
What makes you think the board will get so popular in the course of one day? Today was pretty slow.
I red tomorrow's thread.

EDIT: nevermind. That did it. I just had to make a post...
