question about the PS3 release; I'm well aware that we usually dont know the release dates until they happen. But my question is how do you know when it is released? On the PC you log in and check 'my games' but how do PS3 owners check?

Login to Playstation Store, go to all PS3 games, then the letter B, look under BTTF and see if it is there. Might also appear in the new release section.
If you bothered to read this page, or the first page or even Telltale's own blogs then you would have seen that a release date for the North American PSN version has been announced (26th July). The delay is due to Sony deciding when to release it after it's been through whatever process they put PSN stuff through. If you're after the European date, that is currently unknown but Telltale will inform us when they know.
I'm just wondering why it took so long this time. If it was just some bug that needed fixed, that is fine. I'm just hoping they didn't run into something that didn't work on PS3 and had to redesign the game or remove anything from it. I actually own the series on PC because it came with the Telltell Games collection on Steam, but I only got that about a week or so ago, and have already played 1-4 on PS3, so I'm waiting for part 5 on PS3. At least so far the episodes have referred to your save game from previous ones so they knew which name you picked for the 30's in the first episode. Not sure if they use any other save info.
Also wondering how this will affect future Telltale releases on PS3. I read that they didn't do BTTF on Xbox360 because the MS process took too long, and gamers often didn't get an episode on Xbox until the following episode was out on PC. With the PSN downtime this was the case with PS3. PC had 4 before PS3 had 3. Now with this delay of episode 5, if there WERE an episode 6, it would probably be out on PC before 5 was out on PS3. I'd understand being a little forgiving over the unforeseen downtime, but adding this delay on top of it, I wouldn't be surprised if TT sticks to PC/Mac from now on.
The 26th is about 5 days away. I think it is safe to say a new game for the PC is not going to be announced, developed and released in that time frame.
I can't say for sure what it was about the delayed release dates for X-Box that caused Telltale to skip that platform but I can say that all the whining and complaining done on their forum for an issue that is out of their hands probably isn't helping the decision on the fate of the PS3. Yes, I too would like to finish the game but if I have any grievances I'll take it up with Sony.

Was there a delay on ep.5 for PSN?
Most of the episodes so far have been about a month apart between PC and PS3, haven't they (not counting the PSN downtime)?
That seems to me to be about the average, with each episode for PSN usually coming out at around the same time, or a little later than the episode after it does on PC.

I didnt say that another game was coming out, I just said that if there were 6 episodes, which we all no there arent, 6 would have been out for PC before 5 on ps3. Im not whininh but just curious as to whether this will affect their relationship with Sony as delays did with Microsoft. Im also concerned that the Ps3 version may be missing something that was on the pc, and that the delay could have been due to some element not working well on PS3.

No. This month-long delay has been standard since Episode 1. The only time it was more was because of the hack against PSN. The length of time is dependent mostly on Sony.
THANK YOU for pointing to this. I've been looking off & on & just decided to look again for the PSN release of ep 5 again today. Awesome. Not long now.
If that's your problem, you should be done with Sony. It's pretty evident that the episode is finished (it's out in the US), and that PSN Europe prevents the release, for whatever reason.
Its more about TT not telling us anything. Like I said, Limbo had PSN release dates weeks before it was out. All TT had to do was say "Episode 5 will be out on the EU PSN on 3rd August". All we had to go on was the US PSN release date, although I should have known better.
If TT doesnt know itself when it will be released on the EU PSN, I would question why they aren't chasing Sony for an answer.
Last time I buy episodic games with vague release dates.
Games I have bought:
SBCG4AP
Tales Of Monkey Island (twice, PC and PS3)
Sam and Max: Season 3
Back To The Future
Poker Night At The Inventory
I just updated the original post because the fifth episode seemingly released on PSN Europe. Could anyone of you European PS3 owners confirm that it's actually out?

I didn´t see the last episode in the PS Store. They said at 14.00 (Dutch Time) that the last episode will release today.)
I want to jump in and say that the reason the release dates don't get announced right off the bat is because up until release the games are still being tweaked.

No, it didn't. But WHEN it finally releases on PSN NA, it will be one month + 3 days since the PC release of the 5th episode.

Oh well, I suppose we can have a "Death of the 'Release Date' thread" party.
Yaaay!
Yup, but there's already a "DVD"-sticky. So I'm closing this thread, party pooper that I am, and have it de-stickied in, say, a week or two...
ALL EPISODES ARE AVAILABLE FOR PC, MAC, iPAD, PSN NA, PSN Europe. THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE HERE. GET OUT.
