    Thank you anyway.

I haven't bought it yet, but do you know how difficult it would be to translate/change the data by myself, if it won't be done until then?

It would be more for my brother than myself ^^.
Depends on brother's knowledge of the English, right? ;) All conversations in the game are written in simple language so it won't be difficult to understand what's goiing on.

Sorry, the translation would be for my brother ;).

I also thought of the difficulty to open/edit the data, than the work of translating it.

Translations in games are a lot more difficult than movies I think. From what I've heard the text get's slotted so the translation can't get any longer than what's already there. Could be that's just for certain consoles though, again, I just heard this somewhere so it might not be true.

If anyone needs a fan translation from English to Dutch though feel free to send me a message, I don't know how to put it in but I can translate it. And no people, that's not German, stop mixing us up.

How do you get the english texts out of the game and how to get the translation into the game?

I bought this game a couple days ago and I'm super excited to get through it... but I can't. I, like many others, am confused as to why there is no option to invert the y-axis.

I have yet to discover an answer, so I will ask here. Why is there not an option to invert the y-axis, and since there is a fair deal of turmoil over the lack of the option, will it be patched in? If not, why?

    I have a few questions:

    1. The Walking Dead takes a very cinematic approach. Have you been influenced by self-proclaimed 'interactive movies' such as Fahrenheit (also known as Indigo Prophecy) and Heavy Rain?

    2. As the choices are carried over each episode, can we expect a labyrinth of meaningful action and consequence where some decisions made in episode 1 can be as far-reaching as the final episode?

    3. Does my bum look big in these jeans?

    1. Even if unintentional there are alot of similarities between the two games and Walking dead however i doubt there will be any pistoning sex scenes

    2. Well consider how much work it would be to give that many choices it would lead to possibly a billion endings however i think many will carry over in some way.

    3. Big Bums are the rage now and days

Oh wait your asking the team

    ....

    sorry

    1. We've played those games but aren't consciously drawing on them with Walking Dead. Maybe unintentionally, though, and there are some similarities. We were told Alpha Protocol has a similar dialog system to ours, but I haven't played that! Mostly we looked back at things we've done in the past (Sam & Max, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, and even Poker Night, which taught us a lot about building interactive conversations which stitch together from a lot of places) and tried to iterate from there. Of course other games do similar things and are sources of inspiration, too, but we definitely didn't sit down and play Heavy Rain and say "YES EXACTLY LIKE THAT" or anything.

    2. Hopefully! That's the idea, for sure.

    3. We have HR so I can't answer that.

They released a trailer stating the Episode 2 was coming in June. No specifics on when in June. Feel free to rage if necessary. No, not here. Go punch a stuffed animal for a bit, and just be satisfied in knowing it will be here sometime. Thank goodness for pot, there's no way I'd be this chill about it otherwise.

Have you heard of Kickstarter? Players are throwing millions of dollars, not at games, but at IDEAS for games. For some it'll be years before they actually receive their finished product.

I was part of the Modest Medusa Season 1 Kickstarter By the Way Season 2 Kickstarter is about to start so feel free to check it out when it shows up

I may be starting a Kickstarter project for my autobiographical zombie apocalypse fiction book. It's a wonderful program! Jason Rohrer just got funded for his DS game, Diamond Trust of London. Looks to be a good game

I like the idea bt Davidson quote us some successful Book Kickstarters {besides Webcomics like Modest Medusa Season 2 kickstarter next week } as examples. Because Webcomic books and Games have Unique rewards that autobiographical fiction doesnt quite have

Yeah that's what I hafta come up with... Doing signed posters or numbered 1st editions and such. Has to be really cool whatever it is.

    http://www.kickstarter.com/discover/categories/publishing/most-funded#p1

There's a LOT of em tho, from cookbooks to kids books. Definitely possible. I do still need a good artist to do the cover with me and design a poster from scratch, that would get full credit for it and compensation based on sales if you know anyone
  • edited May 2012
    Ok, ideas so far....

Special custom covers, signed posters, numbered editions, credit in the book, and top tier... adding you in the book as a character! Circa 2004(That's the timeframe of the book, before smartphones were everywhere lol) Tell me about yourself, I'd go through the scenario with you to determine what you would say or how you would act, and there you'd be immortalized in story, special funding credit and disclaimer in the front!

    Any other ideas? Whaddya think?

  • edited May 2012
lol nice. Yeah I own a computer shop that I spend 40hrs a week at, but I have plenty of free time sitting around between customers sometimes. Also have a wife and 21month old son so that takes up time too. I just stay up late to have extra time to myself

Question for the developers: Could you clarify in the future, either on the order page or on the front page, that your "monthly" releases do not mean concurrent releases?

I find this is deceptive to claim. If you have no ability to handle market matters then bring this to whoever is in charge of the matter and deal with it. It's almost universally unethical and everyone i've had to explain this to has been pretty upset by it. Personally I feel a bit stupid for preordering but I don't mind the wait. It's been a great game, just needs better staffing.

Forgive me if i just cant find the info i am looking for but for over a month now the second episode is "coming soon". Aren't these episodes supposed to be coming out every month?? How is there not even a release date yet?! My patience is wearing thin, i think at the very least we deserve to know when we can play this game we payed for.

I've got an honest question. How much influence does Kirkman actually have on the game? I mean is it "We got permission but thats it" or is he a sounding board? does he have veto power on ideas?

Do we find out more about Lee's story surrounding the murder he committed?
