Yeah, I just heard. That's quite surprising, but mostly because they took so damn long it seemed like they would never get him.

Good and bad. It's about damn time that bastard was killed, but the backlash that'll surely come from it isn't anything to be excited for.

I want to post the theme to Team America.

Reports say the Seals were involved but I'd bet Delta had to have had a hand in it too.

Too bad for Osama that he didn't have a pie ready :p

40 minute operation, at least two chopper drop composed of Seals working off U.S./Pakistan intelligence. 1 chopper had mechanical problems and went down, no casualties. Chopper was scorched. Operation conducted as planned. Likely forced entry and close quarters combat room to room. Apparently, Osama used a woman as a human shield.

I'm sure Solid Snake had a part in it as well.

Serious though, I was wondering when they would find and kill him. Go Team America!

Now maybe Republicans will shut up saying that Democrats are soft on terrorism.

This is a really big feather in Obama's cap, I'm sure; and I'm glad.

News is Obama killed him with his bare hands and the Republicans are claiming it's all thanks to the Bush government.

I saw the last of Obama speech...what was that "turning back and walk the long hall after finishing" about??

I think it was supposed to look cool and important but my mind started playing the Get Smart theme.

    That wouldn't surprise me.

The President's announcement said that he tasked certain people with the primary assignment of capturing/killing Osama bin Laden; that certain intelligence of Osama's whereabouts was obtained in August 2010 but needed to be clarified/confirmed; and that last week Obama himself ordered the mission be carried out.

I wonder how Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity are going to ruin this.

    I don't watch Fox. I watch Jon Stewart. :)
  • edited May 2011
I wonder what spin Jon will have on it, it's too bad they don't show the Daily Show or The Colbert Report on ABC2 any more.

I just heard on the radio, and it really is about bloody time that S.O.B devil incarnate got what he deserved. It's a first step towards the end of terrorism, even though this probably wont end it.

Well the Seals utilize the Sea Knight
    id_ch46_sea_knight_02_700.jpg
as well as the Sea Hawk

for assault transport and support. So there's a possibility one of these was used.

omg, resize your photos already. =\

My screen res is only 1440x900, and the default width of each post box on these forums is ~800 pixels.
That second helicopter photo is 3008 pixels wide.

    How do you resize them?
  • edited May 2011
I normally use photoshack and use the resize for message boards option.
  • edited May 2011
Ah. I just went with the wiki link.
  • edited May 2011
Alternatively, you could do a quick google image search for slightly smaller pictures. That's what I do because it requires less work on my part.

    CH-46%20Sea%20Knight.jpg

    Took me about five seconds.

    OR

w5bB8.png and use imgur.com (which is what I do.)

Hey I went back and changed it k? XD I was just looking for appropriately good but practical looking photos.

ANYWAY, now these awesome vehicles are available for all to see.

And I didn't use image shack so I couldn't use its resize!

    =p

In any case, I bet this success will be used in Obama's re-election campaign.

    Love that Fatality one. lol

Yeah, it's good. I wonder how long it took to make, considering the news only came out less than a day ago.
  • edited May 2011
FOX news is reporting that the choppers deployed were Blackhawks and Chinooks. I wonder if the report was simplified for the media since those are more recognizable. The Sea Hawk is based on the Blackhawk, and the Sea Knight is the sister of the Chinook.

Wow. People still hate this guy? He's been doing nothing at all for years.

Still, it shows what Americans can achieve when the playstation network is down :D

And my mum says that the guy on sky news this morning kept calling him obama too. In fact, to stop people doing it again, they now refer to him only by "bin laden"

About resizing photos and other simple editing, I highly recommend IrfanView.
I haven't looked back ever since I installed that, it's extremely lightweight but has all the options you need for simple things like that.
It's also extremely easy to use, and fast.
Oh and it also has a very useful batch resize function (well, you can batch a lot of stuff but I mostly use it for resizing).

Really, try it out, I'm sure many of you will like it... the only negative I find with it is the icon is pretty damn ugly.
