Increase of Game Publishers/Retailers getting "hacked"
Ok, this is beginning to become worrying. First it was Game, then PSN and now Square Enix ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-13394968 ). Who are behind these "hacks", who is next, why is it so easy to "hack" - who develops these sites, surely they're accountable?
What are your thoughts?
I'm just hoping TT do not get victimised.
(No doubt this post will eventually get locked/deleted).

I don't see any reason why that should happen? The PSN hack thread has been fine.
I hope so too... TTG and Steam are probably the only online places I buy games much.
I used to have a separate bank account and card for online transactions, and only transfer money into it when I was about to buy something. Thinking about going back to that now, as well as creating a separate email address to register on websites. Not much to help protect against hackers potentially getting physical/mailing address details though.
The upside to all this is that I now know there's a security firm consultant named "Mr Cluely".
EDIT: Oh wait, I misread that. It's Mr Cluley. Guess there is no upside at all.
Hopes were raised and then dashed within seconds
I just love the fact that we are hearing of these "hacks" after all the Wikileaks fiasco.
I thought the hackers did that to Sony for "injustice" stuff such as making fun of Nintendo and Microsoft. What did Square Enix do? Yikes my friend is a huge Square Enix Fan. He will be ticked.
Who says there has to be a reason? Don't rule out the possibility that some people on the internet are just nasty little ***** who are governed entirely by malice and who want to steal your credit card info.
One nice thing about TTG is that they don't appear to store financial information in an easy-to-retrieve way, so a compromise of their database wouldn't reveal that, at least. It makes them a less interesting site from an attacker's perspective. I hope they have at least some security concepts in mind when designing their site code, though.
Maybe they're just mad that Square Enix doesn't make anything worthwhile anymore. Hooo!
Either that or it's just someone with an inflated ego trying to hack as many things as he can.
Tis True! But no one deserves to be hacked.
I think it's more than one person..and honestly..if it is one person...Justice needs to be served.
KH:BBS was a great game!
You mean, he needs to be served his Just deserts.
