How do you post a picture from local file?

I was wondering how to post a picture from my computer (not from a url or link) - thanks for help with this.

    I usually upload my picture files to imgur, then put the link in IMG tags.

    You can also add pictures as attachments to your forum post, but the size limits are fairly small.

    But then wouldnt it just show the link, or does it show the picture in the post like this one.

    It shows the picture, as long as you put the link in image tags - [ IMG ] and [ /IMG ], without the spaces. Or you can click the "Insert image" button on the post formatting toolbar, then paste the link in the box that pops up.
