So, I've been away for a little while...

And I'm feeling ridiculously out of it in relation to what's been going on in these forums. Can someone give me a summary of the various interesting things that have emerged since, say, May?

    Lots o' banning.
    Lots o' tears.
    Lots o' laughter.
    Lots o' boredom.

    Same old, same old.

May? Uh... "whatever's on your mind" got moved to Forum Games and there were riots, during which I was elected Stalin. You know, the usual stuff.

    Also, they killed me.

The vast majority of the cool people barely visit the actual games forums here and only come to the general chat section because we feel like we have some sort of friendship with some people here.

I'm not one of those people. I still visit the other sections occasionally.

    Wait! Wait!

Are you saying there are more sections out there?

    Mind = Blown!

Hey! We also constructed a religion based on you. I think it's an even trade off.

A bomb went off. Only half the forum survived.

Also, Alan was upgraded to the new and improved Alan 2.0.

Everything has been the same since you left, The Highway, except now I can't read any of your posts without hearing the space core's voice.

It's been a while since a Sam & Max season came out, so I'm not sure what more there is to say that ought not to be included in a General Chat topic; ditto with ToMI.

I also tire of complaining about why BTTF:TG sucks, when the topic has already been beat to death; ditto with arguing about save/restore vs. retry in Sierra games (and, by extension, TTG's KQ game.)

We could always start a third side to the argument that says saves are for the weak and you should get three lives instead. After you use them up, it's game over for you!

Absolutely: retry is obviously the shitty choice. Why would anyone argue against that?

    I agree.

Ask Daishi, for example, why someone would argue in favor of Retries and/or complete lack of deaths in a KQ game. He seems to think that manually saving is a waste of valuable game time and breaks the feeling of immersion in the story.

A few threads have been moved a few people got elected as new mods, and there were riots in the streets. Other than that, not much.

At the risk of derailing this further, I think retries are a good thing, for example if you forget to save. Not having the option to do so just seems outdated. Almost like using a password save system. Maybe if they defaulted retries to off (having to turn them on in the options screen if you wanted to use them), would satisfy both parties?

Meh, the kings quest games don't really interest me anyway. I've got the complete collection on steam that I haven't touched.

Hey now. I didn't realize I was in the King's Quest forum :D

Been away for about the same time...
Seems mostly less fun MI and S&M discussions, overall ranting on BttF and less of the fun this place used to be :(

General Chat's where all the cool kids hang out now, so I've been told.
