Hey.
I wanna start off by saying that I really love Tales of Monkey Island saga, all of it. And I'm also interested in all kinds of piratey stuff, so I generally made this thread for everyone to dump any worthwhile Pirate related game, movie, show or whatever else there might be.
Not sure does this exactly deserve a thread, but I guess it won't hurt to try.
... Yarr?

But anyway, Sid Meier's Pirates! is probably worth your time. Oh, and the first four Monkey Island games, of course.
Anyway, Thanks!
It's an adventure game of piratey proportions... except all the characters are dogs.
It really is a fun game. I highly recommend.
Currently selling for ~$10.
You can buy it for PC/Mac from Steam; buy a Steam key from Brawsome; or buy PC only from various other sites such as Direct2Drive. More info here.
Alternatively, you can try the demo.
If you have a 360, Age of Booty is a pirate pvp game that I had some fun with. Don't know if there are still people playing it these days though.
I'd just like to quickly mention that the demo actually contains an entire third of the game, and is definitely worth downloading and checking out.
Just a warning, though: if you actually end up making it through the demo, it's almost certain that you'll be dishing out $10 by the end of it, since you're well-and-truly immersed by that point, and are probably quite eager to experience the rest of the game.
Ah, GPoVI - the game that looks absolutely fantastic, but falls short in all other facets. Still relatively enjoyable, though, if you can forgive it of its myriad flaws.
The game and its premise does have plenty of potential, though; it just needed better treatment and execution. I'd actually love to see a sequel (or prequel) of it someday, but maybe with some better writers at the helm of the script and story.
