appearances by minor characters?

edited October 2011 in Jurassic Park
i was wondering if there was any chance we'd see characters from the book who never made it into the film. i don't know how the rights on these types of things work, but it would be cool and fun to see ed regis or kathy, the woman who works with the young dinos. i can't think of any other minor characters right now, but it would really be a good bit of fan service to have them in the game in some way, even if they went unnamed.

highly unlikely we'll see any characters from the book as TTG only acquired the rights to the movies and not the books.

but, if they went unnamed, they could likely be featured or referenced.

I've ALWAYS wanted an Ed Regis character in the films, and originally he was supposed to be in the first film I believe. Or at least he was in a draft or two of the script for Jurassic Park. Eventually he basically got replaced by Gennaro. I'd be curious if Uni has rights to the character or not since he was written in a few drafts of the script. If so I think he'd be a nice addition. I doubt it, but hey... a fan can dream. :P

i'm definitely going to keep my eye out for little fan service morsels. i know this game is going to be full of them. little hidden codes and easter eggs will abound.

btw, who would you have choosen to play ed regis, either in '93 or now? i think noah emmerich would have been a good choice in '93 and i kind of like the idea of seth rogen now, especially since he's lost quite a bit of weight.

I have a feeling Telltale got Samuel L Jackson (Mr. Arnold) to come in and do some lines for the game, since they got him to announce "Rated T for Teen" at the beginning of the last trailer. SLJ is always doing voice work and seems like the type of guy that would come in for a game like this. He is a fan favorite after all. Even if it's just him talking over the JP intercom, my mind is gonna be blown.

one of his more recent pieces of voice work was for a children's book called "go the %^$& to sleep." it's on youtube and it's incredible. he's got a really good attitude about doing things that a lot of other actors might think are beneath them. not only does he do them, but he absolutely owns them. one only need see "snakes on a plane" once to know the kind of guy same jackson is.

Huh? I don't think that's Sam Jackson that does the ESRB VO. That'd be pretty awesome if it was though. Looks like the ESRB isn't against getting outside talent to do work for them though, as the folks at Penny-Arcade have done a recent ad campaign for them.
