Just got Deus Ex, Zelda: Oracle of whatever and the two first Broken Sword games, so it's no chance I'll be seen anywhere in a few days.

Original Deus Ex = Good, Sequel = Very Bad

I'm flitting between Brain Age, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 and Zelda: A Link to the Past on the DS.

I'm downloading the update for Uru Live. :D

Glad I'm not the only one to have thought the sequel to Deus Ex was horrible compared to the first one. It might have had nicer graphics but the UI and whole feel of the game changed.

Currently I'm playing Linx, Lyle in Cube Sector, Xpand Rally, Trackmania, S.t.a.l.k.e.r (still), Sin 1, GTA1 2 and 3 (hopping back and forth) and occasionally fire up that adventure game Reactor 09 I think it is.

Currently playing Paper Mario and Paper Mario 2 (I hate Nintendo for still not bringing out Super Paper Mario here yet), Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology (it's 95% level grinding, but I'm addicted to it), Lyle in Cube Sector, Tombi 1 (I never liked Tombi 2 as much), and Smash Bros Mélee.

    (electric though)
sorry just had to say it
  • edited July 2007
What kind of guitar is that? It looks similar to my old Yamaha FG-430. I've also got a Pacifica and a disappointing-sounding Gibson Epoch.

I'm getting an electric in about 5 months, but my accoustic is an Alvarez model. Really nice guitar, and I doubt yours is better, patters.

I added another video to my youtube channel of me playing Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand.

    Check it out.

Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s. I'm waiting on Mario Strikers Charged, plus I've got a bunch of games lined up to be sent to me via GameFly over the next few months.

*repeatedly chanting "Dec. 3rd" almost as if entranced*

it looks like an Alvarez AF60S

personally i prefer Washburn and ovation acoustics (suit my style of playing better)

my guitar pushes the abilities of a £600 guitar and its pretty rare (only available in a few countries when made and now has been remodelled)
similar to the zakk wylde epiphone les paul (£650)
with 2 emg-hz humbuckers (H4A-neck, FH3A-bridge) both with coiltaps installed, Hard Maple set neck with ergonomic junction, graphite nut, mahogany body and an Indian ebony fret board

My friend has mario strikers for the wii, and it ROCKS. I love it. I'll just go on over to his house, and we'll play a set of 5 games, 10 goals each, and I'll beat his butt.

Basically, my strategy is to tackle his player just before they get the ball, and sometimes tackling them without even being near to the ball.

My strategy involves a lot of tackling, I should say.

Currently, I'm playing Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. I've never played it before, so I decided to follow the team path. The fists path seemed very unadventurous.

Well, each path has different challanges, but all paths go to Rome, errrm Atlantis. If you want to skip most of the fist part of the fist path hit INS while in fight mode.

Also, the Wits path its not hard at all, just different puzzles.

  • Since apparently there's no search function here, I'm bringing this 9 year old badboy back to life as it's the one Google found. I know there was one from my era and there's probably one from this era as well. If someone with more will than I can find it, feel free to move me over.

Anyway. I've made the decision to start budgeting better and with a few games on the horizon(3 within 2 years) which I consider must-plays, I'm going to be playing some of my backlog now and in the future. That means obscure reviews of possibly 10yr old indie games to popular games that no one cares about anymore. This should be amusing to me at least. Not tonight though. A bit too late to start a new game.

  • Reading through this thread has made me sad. All the staff that have left... Ah a time when the staff frolicked among the peasants. Wait. Shaun's still around? He has tags, but isn't he gone?

  • Dude, that's a huge necrobump, you're taking a huge risk. I salute you.

  • Who just bumped a 9 year old thread?

  • edited August 2016

    Edit: Eh, back on track.

I'm thinking about trying out Two World II tomorrow.

  • ANCIENT LEGENDARY OLD THREAD!!!!

Adding to this before this gets locked.

Currently playing Heroes of the Storm and waiting on the next episodes from Telltale. Also waiting on Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlords.

  • Pretty sure you could have just made a new thread similar to this one instead of trying to revive a 9 year old thread. Like geez dude.

Nothing. I'm just waiting for TWD Season 3, the remaining episodes of TTG's Batman, Torment: Tides of Numenera, and Tyranny.
The last non-TTG games I played were Pillars of Eternity, Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

  • Hm, nice thread. Although it's linear... Meh.

I'm playing Sims 2 Bustin Out for old times sake. Haven't played it since I was little haha, nostalgic feels going on. Currently level 2 Jock career, still living at Dudley's but my god he's an annoying bum so might move to Mimi's. Also playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare franchise so I can review them (beat MW1 so next up is MW2) and some Overwatch on the side (whooping ass for once feels good man).

  • Right now, I'm replaying Metro Last Light on Ranger Mode. I miss the Metro games so much.

  • Madden 17

    Witcher 3 (again)

    Resident Evil Revelations 2

    Lies of Astaroth

  • The Walking Dead Season one.

    Two Worlds II First Impressions:

The activation DRM on top the Steam DRM was a little unnecessary and annoying. That was the very first thing I encountered. Next, the graphic and performance options available are decent as was the character customization(height and face only). The latter being par for the course in modern RPGs, but with this being 5 years old, the options are decent. If you didn't know, this is a budget title and it looks it. The game is 5 years old and if you compare it to AAA titles, it looks 10.

    Starting the game:
Well the camera has that tethered motion rather than fixed or shoulder. If you get motion sickness easily, it's not good. It does a slightly delayed swing back and forth as you move. Kind of like you're playing a dream sequence. Interesting choice they made there. On the plus side, you are able to move around a bit during certain bits of dialogue and the other characters move their heads in reaction while talking. Pretty impressive compared to what I've seen so far. Speaking of dialogue, the voice acting is mediocre. It's somewhere above bad-funny and somewhere below good-with bad direction. It's there.

    Controls:
Moving feels perfectly fine, attacks have a slight delay, and jumping is awful. Another game where the character suffers from moon jumping. It's delayed, the movement is unnaturally slow and defies gravity(the actual jump height and distance is fine though).

    After a bit of playing:
Okay, the voice acting has grown on me. It's going from lighthearted to overly intense. It's reminding me of the Escape From... films. All the cutscenes have been in-engine so far which has lead to some amusement. For instance, one enemy making a speech had his cape swing around to the front and start waving like a giant bib. Another instance had a falling boulder go right through it's intended target and then said target reacting a few milliseconds later. I have become used to the controls and thankfully, jumping doesn't appear to be a big part of it. The game seems playable and well worth the cents that I spent for it(Got it a while ago in the Bundlestars RPG Champions Bundle for $2 which is still available[Steam codes]).

Even though the game just crashed on me, so far, I'd recommend it for the price. It's a poor man's(or woman's!) Elder Scrolls/Dragon Age. The game is good about checkpoints, that's for sure. Available Here

While the second game has controller support, the first one does not. Buyer beware.

  • Played another hour tonight. I kind of like it. The crafting is very Dragon Age, so I at least understand it. The game is a bit simple with explaining things, but they do give you books that go into detail if you need it. Most of the characters, including mine, are assholes I've noticed. It's a bit amusing, but also a bit tiresome. There's different types of assholes in it, I'll give it that. You've got quippy assholes, sarcastic assholes, stuck-up assholes, intellectual assholes... there's basically no one truly nice. While waiting to see what type of asshole each new character is going to be is stale, it is a bit refreshing to not have that JRPG trope of "well I guess I'm going to go out and help everyone and save the world today" and have everyone gleefully follow you.

One thing sticks out that I didn't mention before regarding the voice acting. When I typed the above review, this character only had one scene and I assumed it was a glitch. This character has now had several scenes and each time, the voice doesn't match the character movements(only major character I've seen this with so far) and her voice is substantially louder and clearer than the others. It seems like the actress was replaced and the new actress was recorded in a different location without anyone bothering to try and match quality. It's weird and very jarring. Her voice is a lot louder than anything else in the game.

    I'm still enjoying myself though.

  • Whoa, this thread is old.

Anyways, I'm currently playing games from Deep Silver bundle which I purchased a while ago. Right now I'm on Risen 2, which I'm enjoying more than I thought I would. It's an alright game.

  • Overwatch, even though it drives me mad. Waiting for BF1 Beta!
