I'm definitely looking forward to this. I enjoyed the first two games very much, particularly the original.

Hi Noname215, welcome to the forums. It's generally better to actually write an opinion or something in your main post when you open up a new thread, otherwise it can be picked up as spam.

That being said, I loved Max Payne 1 and 2, but 3 is not dark enough for me. Too sunny and too baldy.

As I said in my Drake of the 99 Dragons review (now available! Beat the rush!), I'm looking forward to this. The changes they've made to the formula do have me concerned, but not enough to be interested.

I like the new leaps in gameplay that are being made, but I don't know what to make of the story direction. Daytime? Baldness? No trenchcoat? Definently keeping an eye on this.

Sorry. I'll remember that next time. And the dark part of it will probably be in back story or the unlimited amount of violence.

I must say that I'm slightly disappointed that they've dropped the comic book style cut-scenes for a more traditional method. Those original cut-scenes were badass!

However, I was very happy when I heard that music again. Ah, nostalgia; it may be moral masturbation of the mind but hey, it's fun!

If anyone wants to hear more details about the game, this is a preview of what I saw at the New York Comic Con.

Awesome video and graphics of the game. I am going to buy the game next month.
  • Anyone seen the TV commercial? Everything in slow-mo just makes it look even more awesome.

    Can't wait for MP3 liked the first 2. :)
  • One more day until release in U.S. Excited as hell right now!

Edit: Shitballs, I was wrong. May 15th, not 5th.
  • Just got it today. Fucking awesome!

It is indeed a very awesome game. I'm doing my usual playthrough the first two games and then booom! play the third.

Who here actually got the game? For those who have, who liked it?
  • edited August 2012
I almost bought it, but I'm pretty sure it won't run on my computer. It's supposed to be a beast of a game, when it comes to system requirements.
I don't wanna spend money and find out it doesn't work on my computer.

Anyone think Rockstar should do Max Payne 4?

First they need to make Max Payne 3 into a real game.

    What's wrong with it?

It's a movie with 20 seconds of shooting inbetween here and there.

Max Payne is about the story and not the shooting. It felt like a max payne to me.

Then make it a movie and not a game.

    Oh wait:

Seriously. Max Payne is about shooting things while you fly through the air. Not about 5 minutes of cutscenes that cannot be skipped to get to a bit of shooting ad flying.

I see your criticism and accept it. However I enjoyed the cutscenes for what they were, well crafted and well written and oozing style. Plus the gameplay was quite intense in parts so having a few mins to cool off after a particularly challenging area was ore than welcome.

It mainly grated on me at the start, but I soon got used to the games rhythm .
