Happy Easter!

edited April 2012 in General Chat
Exactly what it says on the tin - hope you all had a great easter! Did you have fun, or get anything especially nice?

(Little surprised no-one else started a thread like this, but hey ho)

Easter creeped up on me. I didn't even realize until yesterday when my mom gave me a bag of Easter chocolate that Easter was today.

I didn't realize until this morning. And even then this feels like a normal Sunday, only difference being my family believes I should read The Hunger Games and bought me the first book.

Well at least its a good book.

It's been a tradition almost every year that I made an Easter image with the same theme (presenting a basket of candy/eggs) (Max, as above and Sonic Adventure) and now I'm making one with my own character, Rob Rabbit.

So, Happy Easter again. :) I'm off to eat some more chocolate eggs. :D

Have a very happy Easter. Unfortunately, my mom and I didn't go to church... again! This is the third week in a row that we skipped church. The first was when she got sick, the second was a reminder of imperfect Palm Sunday masses through the years, and now, the third time today, my brother and his wife got in a car accident in Massachusetts. They're fine, but they were trapped, and my dad had to go and pick them up in a few hours. So no church today for the Easter celebration mass. This stinks! :(

    Church and BBQ were good.

To be honest I feel about as much connection with Easter as I do to Labour Day. I find everything about it a con like paying four times for the same quantity of chocolate in a block just because its in the shape of a rabbit or a chicken or an egg.

..but peanut butter mini eggs are orgasmic and I can't get them year round :( Sometimes I find it worth paying a premium for candies I love.

My brother and his bf were over, we ate a ton, went for a walk, drank a ton and watched some Frasier. Good times :)

    Best show ever.
  • edited April 2012
I hate it for the soul reason that because of that show everyone now mispronounces my surname. Frasier indeed. :p

    Fraijer?

    Fraijer?

I'd imagine that the emphasis should be on the 's' in Fraiser, as opposed to how it's said in the show, where the 's' is pronounced with a 'z'.

Just buy your Easter chocolate after Easter! Bargain. And I support any holiday event that gives me time out of the office, although it's lame that the US has a 3-day weekend when Australia and the UK have 4 days. You can have a grand adventure in 4 days!

Regular peanut butter cups don't do it for you? Today I saw Lindt Lindor peanut butter truffles in the store... maybe worth a try for the long lonely months when peanut butter mini eggs are absent. They appear to be both rotund and full of peanutty stuff.

I have purchased those. They're good, but pricey. The mini peanut butter cups are okay, but the chocolate gets a bit crumbly when I peel the foil off. It's just cleaner in egg form.

My son figured out 100% about the bunny.... I think he felt betrayed.... If I could do the whole raising the kids over again I would never have done those traditions..

    Aw, poor kid. :(

Has he sussed out Santa too? I figured out the Tooth Fairy first and it was all dominoes from there.

Im not sure.. he is a pretty smart little dude so I imagine he has.

I figured out everything at a very young age as well, but I still played along for my parents' benefit because I didn't want the chocolate and presents and tooth money to stop coming.

And it has payed off well. I still usually get a present from Sandy Claws at Christmas.

It's more that everyone pronounces Frasier as Frazure, whereas my surname is Fraser, so people assume it's pronounced the same. It was much more common when I visited the US, I have to say. I imagine that's because you don't have the "House of Fraser" department store chain over there. But people still think of the show first these days. ¬_¬

On topic: I've eaten my easter egg. I want more. MORE.

Wait, wait, wait... Santa and the Tooth Fairy aren't real?! What. The. Fuck.

Get yourself down to your local shop. There's always a bunch of unsold Easter eggs at heavily reduced prices.

In my opinion any holiday that hasn't inspired a plethora of TV specials isn't worth the price of admission.

They tried... goodness knows they tried. Who could possibly forget beloved classics like It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown and VeggieTales: An Easter Carol?

You're right though. I wouldn't say we have a plethora of Easter TV specials.

We made a Pinata for easter!

Well.. we made one for our mother's easter party at the pub she works at.

The place is called The Honey Bee, therefore it was a Bee Pinata.

It turned out great. The kids loved it, (it took 39 kids, with several hits each to break it apparently). They had a great easter party! :D

    I approve of this shirt.

If you fill it with those little solid chocolate eggs, that's quite a nice alternative to the traditional Easter egg hunt.

Also, I love that there is a licensed Justin Bieber piñata (I choose to ignore the pull-string part).

Not bad but I'd go for 'Christmas 2: Electric Boogaloo' or 'Christmas 2: The Revenge of the Sprout'.

It's a photo webcomic written by a chemical engineer and done in the style of a college class. You might enjoy it.

I only asked because, not one week ago, he did a bar graph on most successful sequel titles and "Electric Boogaloo" came out as the one with the best quality.

Silly. You don't need a bar graph to know that "Electric Boogaloo" is the greatest sequel title of all time and is funny no matter what potential sequel you attach it to. :p

I have noticed though that the rate of comedic value of the title increases along with the inappropriate nature of the sequel! For example; 'Ghost 2: Electric Boogaloo' is reasonably humorous but 'Schindler's List 2: Electric Boogaloo' is far funnier.
